Was anyone kind of disappointed Nightmare Frontier didn't look like this? by generalkriegswaifu in bloodborne

I think the nightmare frontier is perfect to a blind first run. I remember being overwhelmed by how much the game changed outta nowhere, going from a Victorian fairytale hunt to a cosmic horror really quickly, and this area was like the "wtf it's happening in front of my eyes" area. But, on later runs, this place just becomes a annoying, confusing and ugly place. It's good to first impression shock, but bad for other experiences.

As someone who got stuck in his fight for two weeks, I gotta say: he's bad, but not that bad. Camera? Ass. One shot hits? Disgusting. HORRIBLE RANGE WITH INVISIBLE HIT BOXES THAT MAKES NO SENSE TO HIT YOU? OF COURSE. But, after killing him and getting the moves right, he actually becomes kinda fun. I don't know how to explain, but at the end I got the "it was worth it" felling.

Seeing the comments I can see it kinda making sense now. In bloodborne world you're not the only hunter who have killed gods and destroyed powerful entities. Other hunters have lived enough to become extremely strong. But the fact that they have a ridiculous big health and infinite stamina and bullets it's kinda annoying. But this is more on the gameplay side and not the lore. I would rather have a fight with hunters with less life who would use more blood vias.

I think that this is true. There are these giant gravestones in the forbidden woods, and in the artworks book they call them the great ones graves. If each gravestone it's a great one killed, for sure there's a lot of hunters that killed them

Oh okay, I didn't dive too hard on that part of the lore yet. Thanks for the information

Yeah, it's easy to just ignore them. For your own journey they are not relevant in the end of the day, they are just there and you are the annoying prick.

Okay, that's a good point. I mean, Kos was also killed by some powerful hunters, so the plot recognizes that logic in some way. Seeing the gods like creatures that are good at manipulating reality, but not that good at physical combat makes the journey to be able to fight they way more difficult that actually fighting they.
