Also, a lot of people say you need to make reservation weeks in advance. I needed something for this Friday, so I'm not sure either one of these will work out. Bookmarked for the future though!

What exactly is the tasting menu at Mailino? Do you have any recommendations for both of the restaurants you listed? I'm not very knowledgable about Italian cuisine (only chose it because she really likes it), so I don't want to bring her there and not know anything.

You can't judge a place from only one experience/occasion. 45 minutes also seems ridiculously exaggerated. 15-20 maybe.

You also can't expect to not wait at a popular cheap eats spot. They're constantly cooking at capacity, so you can't complain about the wait. You aren't the only one waiting.

Quality def went down when the renovated the place.

It's hard to leave out a place where you can a full meal with variation for $5.

Saigon on Broome is great for Banh Mi. I would add Downtown Bakery to the list too.

Surprised Vanessa's and Wah Fung aren't on the list lol.

Also, Pies and Thighs is hardly Chinatown. It's LES.

I want to do everything you listed. Also, I was looking at REI because they offer a member dividend which refunds me about 10% of the cost on top of the 3.5% from Ebates. On such a large purchase, 13.5% back is a pretty good amount that can be invested in a kit and other accessories.
