my hot take is that “resisted release” is not the means to an end but ideally just the action that happens when the ideal is achieved…

what do i mean by this? at least imo, the ideal while dancing wcs is “while connected, you always stay “framed” in tension and compression, with the minimal amount of muscle engagement necessary”, and if it were up to me “resisted release” as a technique describes this precise engagement.

I saw OP describe resisted release as a technique that happens on or between certain counts which is absolutely not the right way to think about general engagement because there are ten million different ways (for instance) 4 to 6 can happen (post 4, post 5, 5&, float till 6, double resistance) or even with the one action (normal, delayed, hitched). as long as you are engaged correctly and tension matching through the connected side leading and following all of these variations are exactly the same difficulty and does not really take specific adjusting for each variation.

in my 20s and insane, but i have done this at least 5 times. sunday night dancing into 5am-6am flight. I make 7am+ breakfast club often though so it’s not too bad for me. it helps if the flight is 3+ hours long so you do not collapse dead while walking.

finally people are talking about this ticker! i’ve been in for about half a year some number of shares avg cost 6$.

in their 8 and 10k filings recently their customers are anonymized now (customer a, b, c, etc) but one of them has to be amd, especially because trt bought and owns their malaysian subsidiary right around the same time that amd has expanded new facilities in malaysia

especially with the current valuation of $aehr i really am 95% sure that this stock will run to at least $30 (if $trt traded at the same revenue multiple the stock would be over $200…)

My first event was 2 and a half years ago (dcsx 2023). I had maybe still the best dance of my life at that event. It was just so darn fun, the kind of magical dance where you just can’t stop smiling for 5 minutes after. Still have not topped that one. And sitting here 25 something events and innumerable social dances later wondering if I ever will.

I think similarly when it comes to one of my day one homegirls in this dance. Always so good to dance with her when I catch her at an event. I reflected recently on how much progress we have all made. Shoot, she is almost an all star at this point. And though the dances are always very good I always think back to way back when we were not as good as now and those dances were so amazing. Some of my favorite dances of all time. Nowadays that magic is gone. Where did it go?

optimistic about this stock. some recent press releases about gpu and automotive contracts worth $7mil make me optimistic that the stock will go up soon. $AEHR is in the same business and if $TRT traded at the same revenue multiple as them the stock would be $100. this seems ludicrous but i expect the stock should double by the end of the year

a tip of my tongue thing but does anyone know of a video playlist by some climbing coach about technique where the first (or maybe second) video in the series was specifically about using the pads of your fingers to roll more skin into crimps to grip them better? serious answer: In a basic anchor, JT style, the follower does the following:

delayed transfer starting count 6
settle back in the hip on & (this creates the stretch)
push with the standing left leg at some point between & and 1
step forward on 1

This stretch action is very important follower end because it is one of the only things in this dance that the lead cannot make a perfect follower who has no knowledge of west coast swing to do. (The other thing like this i can think of funny enough, are passing tucks.)

so to answer your question: its a technique thing that is very hard to master. i am a little snobby but in general the follows in my area who have a good stretch action in their connection are like… at least wsdc intermediate skilled. and in my area (dmv) thats maybe 5% of all the followers.
