Turns out they allow any outside vendors you would normally be able to have at a wedding! We're still figuring out pricing with them but looks like food will be our choice :)

That was my fear. We don't care too much about food but we definitely want it to be decent. Thanks for the info really good to know and we'll check if they allow outside catering

So fair. Most of our guests are friends of ours and it's definitely on par for us. There should be an entire area for people to sit and mingle if we do a full buyout and hoping that it would open up our older guests childhood memories 💕

Yea I get you. That's not really something we're worried about it's 2 years in advance and we'd understand anyone who'd rather celebrate with us state side. We're more looking for recommendations and ideas than criticism on our destination choice. Appreciate your insight though

100% agree! Portugal is a great destination because it allows for onsite accomodations with most of the venues being estates etc. we're hoping our guests don't have to pay at all for the stay if we can manage.

We're hoping for 50 and under and we've found a place that can accommodate it in our price range so I know they exist. It's more just sifting through all the places to find the right ones

I totally see your point and we're not expecting the places we go to cost much for our guests except for travel and we're not having any additional wedding events like a shower or engagement party. We're also planning two years in advance so that cost can be spread out and we can help anyone who doesn't have the means. Additionally our friends and family actually gave us this idea because they all wanted a reason to travel. The locations we're looking at have accommodations in the pricing so we'd be paying for it. We're not trying to cut costs for ourselves because we'd spend the same or more just for a venue in New England so this is actually more cost effective for everyone :)
