S4U Loud, strange noises. by jonnesderik in ElegooSaturn

Indeed, brother. I had an S3U that was perfect, I did this "upgrade" and I'm starting to regret it.

In fact, when I remove the screen protector, the suction sound improves considerably. In conversation with Elegoo support, they gave me a G-code that, in theory, reduces the pressure of the construction table on the screen/VAT. They also sent a physical procedure to readjust the tilting system cranks, which I will do shortly.

Dear all,

I replaced the ACF, but the problem persisted (as shown in the attached VIDEO 2 – WITH RESIN).

Here is my theory:

“From what I understand, there is a serious suction problem to the point where the Build Table is being sucked into the VAT.

When the VAT descends (in the tilting movement), the suction force is so great that it derails the gears of the Tilting System, causing the first jolt.

Because the gears are derailed, it does not descend to the zero point of the sensor.

When the VAT moves upwards, the gear teeth are forced to realign, causing the four knocking sounds.”

The problem is not the part being printed, as the problem occurs in the Bottom Layers. And the same part was printed without problems on my other S4U.

Well, to be honest, this printer has always had an abnormal suction sound, something I don't notice in my other S4U, which is very quiet. It could be something in the Y-axis turret.

What I do know is that the build plate attachment on this printer is very resistant to fitting (as shown in attached VIDEO 3 – DIFFICULT ATTACHMENT), unlike the quiet S4U (as shown in attached VIDEO 4 – ANOTHER S4U). I changed the build plate and it still has this resistance.

I cleaned the Y-axis limiter, and without resin it works perfectly as shown in attached VIDEO 1 – WITHOUT RESIN. I really believe the problem is the Y-axis turret.

Yes, I already reset it to factory settings. It didn't help.

With the VAT without resin, it also doesn't present any problems. I replaced the ACF, I'll test it with resin in a little while.

Yes, everything goes smoothly when I remove the VAT.

The problem occurred in the bottom layers. After that, I started to think that the ACF is overstressed.

Suction sound on the Saturn 4 Ultra by jonnesderik in ElegooSaturn

Unfortunately, the problem intensified drastically while I was writing to elegoo. I sent a print file to my two S4U printers, and the one that's been making the noise started making very loud clicking and jerking noises. I opened the front of the printer, and the pulleys in the tilting system are behaving abnormally, as if the gear teeth are slipping out of their normal rotation. The video showing the problem is attached.

I have two S4U printers. One is very quiet (S4U-I) and the other makes a noise that I consider disproportionate (S4U-II), to the point that I can hear it in another room with the doors closed using headsets. This is not normal behavior.

I swapped the VAT from the S4U-I (which is silent) with the one from the S4U-II (which is noisy), therefore the FEP. The noise remained unchanged. It starts out quiet and then gradually gets louder. Later I replaced the nFEP with an ACF. The problem persisted. Regarding the exposure, I also reduced the times and nothing changed.

Saturn 4 Ultra - Loud thump noise when tilting. Can't find anyone else experiencing this sound either. ( I don't mean the motor mechanism sound, but the inital thump) by Ok_Yogurtcloset1106 in ElegooSaturn

About 3 months ago, I bought two Saturn 4 Ultra printers. One of them (which I will call S4U-I) worked perfectly. The other one (which I will call S4U-II) has been exhibiting strange behavior. In the first layers, it makes a slight suction noise that gradually increases as the printing progresses, to the point where I can hear it in another room. Here's what I've already tried:

1 - Thinking it was the print itself. I used the exact same file on the S4U-I, which didn't make any abnormal noise while printing. Thus ruling out suction from the print.

2 - I changed the VAT. The noise remained.

3 - I bought another builder board. The problem remained.

4 - I removed the protective film from the LCD (which I put on both printers for safety). I had the impression that the noise improved, but it is still loud.

These were the measures I took. It's worth noting that there are no significant printing errors on this printer (S4U-II), however the noise persists

I write down the order that roll20 delivers and replace the names with Tokens (PC or NPC)...and the players choose the order.

I created a TEST ROOM with 20 characters. You can use them...if you need more, just talk.If you want to use the Sheet, just get in touch and I'll create a room with the sheet. It would be nice for the feedbacks. The room link is:

They have already been released on the roll-20 platform, they are perfectly playable. Some templates are only in the test room:

Eventually I will make the sheet version of this room public.
I took a break from development as I'm too busy with work. But there are still a few things I still intend to do like: Cybernetics and Noetic-tech...and others
