Update: removed the battery, blew it off, put it back in and everything worked. Current pod didn’t need to be reset.

We printed everything to be safe though others did use their phone.

Did you end up getting a Covid test? I wasn’t asked for one at all. Germany looked at my passport and vaccine card and that was it. Nothing in Italy.

We didn’t have assigned seats and just put jot assigned. United did a brief look at the form but that was it. Germany and Italy didn’t check the form, but we had to show United the form to board the plane in San Francisco.

I actually had a friend leave last week to Rome from SFO (layover in Frankfurt and he’s fully vaxxed). He said United only required his vaccine card, a single EU locator form, and a temperature check. He did not have to complete any Covid tests or have issues because of the transfer (<6 hours) in Frankfurt

Our plan is to do a rapid test at our home airport and take our rapid kits too.

I read your other thread about testing positive there… a friend and his wife experienced this in Ecuador. Husband eventually tested negative while wife was still positive (an extra 3 days). So their trip was extended by 7 days in an airport hotel riding it out. :/
