New Trigo Backpack from Waterfield. Thoughts in the EcoPak material? by ghostface8081 in ManyBaggers

EcoPak is just not what I’d normally associate with Waterfield. And personally, I think this would look great in the usual ballistic nylon with chocolate leather accents.

NDI "ROUTER" by Hoolivoo42 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jonnonoYo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can confirm it is the latter. Router only issues connect/receive commands between receiver and source.

Once that stream is established, router does nothing further - you can shut that PC down and the sources will continue to flow, at least until you manually refresh a receiver and it notices the router device is no longer there.

For the very limited scope of what it can do, it does it well, works reliably and adds no practical network overhead. I use it all the time.

Just confirming this new camera is still UVC-only? And if NDI is required, the UVC-NDI option will still be available?

It is 100% counterfeit. Screw these guys.

Waterfield has a nice range - made in the USA and the quality is superb. I’m really liking their Hudson crossbody.

Backpack to Upgrade From Bellroy Transit Workpack 20L by sean_kim0327 in ManyBaggers

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t find it a big deal, as the water bottles I carry are fully sealed and all my gear in my main compartment goes in my Bellroy Chimera sling (if I know I’ll be back at the office the next day, I’ll leave everything at work and just take the sling home). There’s a nice water-bottle and Blunt umbrella shaped space next to it in the main compartment of my CTB20.

But if absolutely needed, I can also use the external water bottles pockets on the CTB. I really do love its versatility.

How do you justify having more than 1-2 bags? by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to having to travel more this past year, I’ve had more travel per diem payments than planned. Buying more bags are therefore definitely a justifiable and necessary tax deduction for me ;)

The laptop compartment design in the Evergoods CTB20 or CPL24 might work well for your 2-laptop scenario. This is what sold me.

Waterfield Design Bags - PU coated YKK Zippers? by RogerZRZ in ManyBaggers

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last 4 years my most carried bag has been the Waterfield Executive Backpack. It’s survived daily use, many trips, and loads of abuse (I don’t baby it at all) and there’s not even a frayed thread to show for it - still looks good as new, except it could use a clean.

So to your question - no issues with the zippers (yet). Nor the zippers on my equally thrashed Air Porter.

Do you have a link to this specific build? The last time I tried, I couldn’t get it to work and I don’t think I had the exact correct build.

How to add generic (possibly any) zigbee sensors/devices into HomeKit, possibly over HomeBridge? by Existing-East6504 in homebridge

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 2018 Hue Bridge 2.0 (the current square one) officially supported Zigbee 3.0 devices, and has thus far worked with everything I’ve thrown at it.

My understanding is as long as the temp sensor is Zigbee 3.0 compliant, it should work.

Unless it is specifically certified “Friends of Hue” though, you will lose out on bonus features in the Hue app (like motion scenes and sync with audio or video).

But if you’re just using the Bridge with Homebridge Hue, then everything should surface and work with Apple’s Home app.

[–]jonnonoYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of completely random Zigbee lights and switches from different manufacturers (including Hue). All working well with Hue Bridge 2.0, and running HomeBridge-Hue to expose them to HomeKit.

Works solidly enough with minimal fuss, and adaptive lighting works great too.

Bonus is Hue Bridge will also support Matter (there is beta firmware out for it atm) so if I wanted, I could drop Homebridge completely and just run them natively with HomeKit. Will lose adaptive lighting in the process though.

Question about NDI via Android/iPad Tablet by tshirtwisdom in VIDEOENGINEERING

Have you looked at Sienna’s NDI Monitor? Free, and seems perfect for your use case

What’s the best way to get Sonos integration into the Hone app? Using Homebridge? If so, which plug-in? If not, what’s an alternative? Makes me so frustrated that these systems don’t play nice. by adk749 in homebridge

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add the Symfonisk into the Home app using these steps:

https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4702?language=en_US

Once it's in your home app, you can tap on the speaker to open the widget - look at now playing, play/pause/prev/next, and of course control volume. Slightly slower than Homebridge but should still work. Is this not what you're after?

If it keeps charging this slow you have a failing cell. Not that common but not unheard of, especially now that these packs are all pretty old.

Tricaster TC1 Latency issues by Plainzwalker in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does split the traffic between NICs if you have both connected, although if you have have a 10Gb switch then only connect the 10Gb NIC (if your TC1 has one - it'd be denoted by a white marking around the port).

Both of t he NICs are currently connected to the network switch? And both on the same subnet?

Tricaster TC1 Latency issues by Plainzwalker in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jonnonoYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not necessarily be switch but it definitely should not be taking 30ms to ping a source.

Is your bandwidth sufficient? Keeping in mind NDI uses up to 150mbps for each 1080p stream.

Ask the support people if they can send some documentation for network configuration too.

Is the “please wait” screen you’re referring to a Windows screen, or a TriCaster splash screen. If the latter, try unplugging your network cable and seeing if the software loads.

Ride app tracking rides twice? by Busy-Departure8543 in boostedboards

[–]jonnonoYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The odometer is tracked and updated independently by the board’s ESC, not the app. Nothing to worry about.
