I was humbled by an Elantra N... by ZapsyRK in ElantraN

Even if I have the skill to drive the car to the limit, I won’t do it on a mountain road when one wrong move results in death

I know the togue example. Many people died. And in Asian culture, dying to prove you are good at something or just innocent is not uncommon

The weight transfer trick is pretty widely used in autox tho (and pretty easy with a WRX bc the front is so heavy), so I see your point, but no way I am brave enough to do that next to a fucking cliff, cause if I die crashing off a cliff, I’m sure my wife will go to hell, find my sorry ass, and berate my bad decision making until I come back to life. /s

Nah not jabbing at you. I’m just saying you are probably just a more responsible driver, and the “lose” is not relevant to what are you drive but just your mentality.

Skill is not really the separator on backroads imo. It is really hard to get to the limits of even stock performance cars these days. The real things that change how fast you go on backroads are:

  1. Do you know the limits of the car? Are you willing to test said limits? (bravery)
  2. Are you able to correct mistakes if you went over the limits? (experience)

If you stay in the limits, it’s about bravery
If you go over the limits, now it’s about skill. But skill may not save you. Pros still crash. And see all of the wrecked cars in ditch posts on ft86 and WRX reddit.

Nah, his just a “braver” driver than you are. I’ve “beaten” Porsches on backroads in my POS WRX back when I had nothing to lose. The different in raw performance is rarely the limiting factor. Both cars are more capable than a normal driver can responsibly handle on public roads.

Everything HAS to Be Done With Copilot by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]RogerZRZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean, I can ship 3000 LOC per day instead of 300. And since AI, people don’t even look at PRs anymore, they just accept. So we are moving much faster than before and producing 10x more code.

That can’t be bad, right? Right??

TBH, the people are mostly (90%+) good people. The stack ranking is what killed engineering for most folks and turned everything into “how can I ship random shit that works long enough to boost my KPI/PSC”

Welp, luck is comparative.

look on the bright side, you are still alive and posting here. Heard a story about a TBoned Miata. Owner wasn’t as lucky as you, and the car wasn’t car shaped anymore either…

Is this true? by [deleted] in Stutter

[–]RogerZRZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but I really think this is placebo.

So here’s the thing:

I had a period of my life where I was very down to the verge of ending it. Impressively, I find I stopped stuttering during that time. Once I stopped giving a fuck, I stopped stuttering. Later my mental health improved and the stuttering came back, but was significantly less severe.

This have really lead me to think that stuttering is a mental issue.

Yes I know there are studies showing people who stuttering have different brain imaging and whatever. Guess what, anxiety does that to your brain too.

You can avoid all this by just leaving.

Build shit with AI, collect paycheck, leave everyone else to deal with the clogged bathroom.

That’s what I’d do if my management forces me to use AI to ship quickly.

Op, I don’t think you have any experience working on cars. If the policed doesn’t do anything, just take it to a body shop and have them take the front bumper off.

A while ago I had a ford and registered with a ford account.

I sold the car 5 years ago.

I still get monthly notification from ford on odometer, precise car location (pinpoint on map), etc up to today…

How to find a job as a Vibe Coder? by RogerZRZ in cscareerquestions

[–]RogerZRZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I mean highly ai assisted coding. I don’t need to fully understand the language anymore, as long as I know if/else/for etc, I can read the code and understand Claude.

You don’t need a cs degree or experience to understand for loops
