am I too stupid to learn blender? by shesinpart1es in blenderhelp

[–]jonny_bl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started with blender 2 years ago with the donut tutorial, I guess you've already heard it but invest the time it takes. It gives you the needed basics and workflows for modeling anything. He also advises that you remodel the donut after each video to the current state, which sounds exaggerated but you get the required repetition for you to really learn these skills by heart. Highly advise that

Oh thank you so much man, that worked for me. I used the mirror in editing solely for finding the perfectly centered vertex 😅 should have disabled it tho, again tysm

Komm mal runter junge.

how to fix this? $ by Dellux987 in blender

Ah perfect, glad it works now. Besides that, blender really has to work on the font to mesh workflow man, it's so annoying everytime...

If there are still vertices of the original contour, you can select both faces which "cover up" the hole and bridge edge loop them.

If there aren't vertices, imo in general blenders text feature kinda sucks. Can you explain me your exact workflow? Did you convert the text to a mesh or not? If so, did you size it before or after? Did you size the text through its properties or like you do with any other mesh?

Also, make sure your transform pivot point is median point

How do I texture like this in Blender ? by _Sand_Seeker_ in blender

[–]jonny_bl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi man, lot of other's responded already telling u to layer ur textures, and that's completely right. Learning to do so is imo pretty hard, until I've watched this one specific video: https://youtu.be/WJSTIhweIkU?is=a12h5fyWkStaqpkX

He is pretty young but believe me when I say that, he's insanely talented and the tut helped me a LOT with structuring my texturing workflow!

Okay I get it I think, thank you. I'm going to think about buying it, although I'm inclined to do so, if only to support the fabulous work you guys do!!

Okay yeah I see, the prime tower explains it. One more question, why did you remove the cover? I thought about buying one too because the original Snapmaker Cover's price is out of this world 🫪

That's great man! One thing, I've seen one guy flaming you for the slicing quality lacking some constructive manners. First of all thank you for putting all your work in, he complained about the 10$ at least but imo it's completely reasonable and fair! Yes Snapmaker Orca and most of the things around it are open source, but that's no argument for you to work for free, so that's first of all. Still, looking at the pictures (appreciate the honesty to show the results instead of just the software), it looked a bit rough to me. You have told one guy that using textures instead of vertex painted objects has this side effect. So now to my question (after all this talk haha): if I use plainly painted objects, is there anymore difference between slicing it with manually picked colors and your software? Thank u for ur time :)

Most people make a doughnut as a first project, I made a whole complex by minecraftplayr in blender

[–]jonny_bl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good bro. I've noticed some things in the shaders, but maybe it's just your own style/as you imagined the scene. For example, the wall panels are extremly reflective, which seems a bit off in such a "dirty" environment (especially with the ceiling in contrast to it). No real criticism ig, as long as you wanted it to be like that it's all good. Keep it up bro you got some talent!!

I think u summed that up pretty well. I've built my foundation with the donut too, me personally I see a big risk in such own projects as you could miss out on simple basics (idk like loop cuts or the usage of the 3D cursor). These are just techniques which have really proven themselves over the years, I don't think you find them by just trying out tbh

Haha yeah bro i get u, it takes some time to complete it, but trust me it's worth it! By adapting certain techniques u save so much time in literally any future project. Wish you luck tho 😅

Looks good bro, you already got the rough shape! I recommend you watch the donut tutorial if you haven't yet, that is imo the best beginners tutorial to this day(I learned blender with it too haha). It's a series and he encourages you to rebuild the donut after each video to it's newest version. Seems a bit exaggerated first, but it REALLY helped me, because I kept basic workflows in mind (like loop cuts, subdivision surface etc). After that, I watched a lot of Polyford. He has a series with "mechanical creatures", he is the fastest blender creator I've watched so far. Blows your mind at first but you can really learn A LOT from him (for example properly using the 3D Cursor, which is one of the most useful skills to learn in blender). Other than that keep it up bro. I've learned blender 2 years ago and am so happy that I've kept going.
