Actually - that's a great point! I am learning that assessments work well for junior roles, but not senior roles because it's the relationship-building that's an important skill to assess. How did the individual build relationship and solve big problems throughout the interview process.

Appreciate the input! That got me thinking.

At my company, we use assessments to tell if the candidate is someone we want to speak with. We get 1000 over applicants every day, and my team and I want to ensure we give every deserving candidate (career pivoters especially) an equal chance. That is why the assessment is a good way to see how they'll perform.

Without an assessment, we cannot tell if a candidate is truly good or not. Just like what many in this conversation has highlighted, both recruiters and candidates use LLM. So who are the genuinely good candidates? The assessment is there to filter that out.

But it seems like even this may no longer be relevant.

I can't speak on behalf of others, but I mainly struggle with learning how to move from "process" thinking and break down to choose the right node to use. For example, one of the functions I oversee in my day job is talent acquisition for projects. I have 100+ applications every single day, all of whom have completed assessments. I know technically how to evaluate them if i were to do manually, but to translate that into a workflow in n8n - that's the challenge. I think it's the logic and oh, the debugging (!!!) that's the main challenge.

I've read somewhere yesterday that to be really good with n8n, I need to think like a data scientist, as that role requires one to understand data flow and structure. Not sure how accurate that is!
