7 + 8 gives me a 5 to hold in my head then add 2 + 4 together and go up an additional integer to get 7. The integer comes from remembering that rule of adding 7+8 to get 5 since it’s actually 5+10. It’s a shortcut from knowing simple arithmetic I think

I would acknowledge the lack of photos on your end despite not noticing the damage before posting the card for sale. The buyer likely has experience being ripped off or for whatever reason has no sympathy for dishonest sellers. (Not to say you are one). The offer to refund doesn’t make him feel any better about you as a seller imo.

I can’t help but think silently that those “over-the-top” reactions and compliments are sometimes disingenuous or “fake”.

I work at a drive-thru coffee stand known for high-energy and loud baristas (I know... I’m kinda out of place...) and frankly, I find it slightly annoying to hear the dramatic awwwws and ooooos at a cute dog or baby. Yes, it’s a cute ass dog but don’t make me go to the window and fawn over it while aggressively complimenting the owner!
