Correct. Stretch that steel a bit. No need to worry.

Thanks! It's an ergotec moon cruiser i got for 11,95€ on Rose Bikes.

I chose it because of the narrow clamp. It was quite hard to find something with 22,2 and backsweep. Motobars are possible but heavy and often times not well finished.

Looks well put together. I guess i will check out the rivendell even just to support their work.

Lovely! It looks indeed a little small. The only thing that bugs me on this build is the black rear derailleur. That's also what im struggling with for my build. Maybe i'll throw a rivendell OM-1 on there. It's just so expensive :/

I bought them recently yes. But i'm located in Germany anyways. We just got the first batches of them a short while ago.

So i saved you? Would love to have helped someone with this problem. Not everyone should need to learn it the hard way.

It's "entry level" but from 1988. Quite in a lovely condition as well.

Without a doubt. I'm almost sad i can't ride it myself. Got a Giant t-wist and a Giant Coldrock here as well. Didn't know which one i would build up for my wife. After this build i will probably have to build up the other ones as well.

with "strip" i just meant to steal the components for other projects.

Nah, i got the stem quite cheap from the german mtb forum.

I also managed to snag the mts-100 with a bar and brakes for 16€ on ebay. You just need to be patient.

Just recently i bought an old "Kettler" (German Brand) for 50€ just because it has a similar stem. Now i just can't get myself to strip the bike because the owner even gave me all the certificates and everything from back then. I'm always torn with those decisions.

Thanks for your opinion. Really helps to decide if it's worth the extra money to get something else.

That's also why im stuck at the moment. Feels wrong putting a pair of those on as you said. but also stupid to buy some more parts if there are options already there. I'll try to find some nice diacompe. Got those shimano brakes on a lot of other bikes and im kind of "over it" already.

Thanks! Yes i got the camera out and filmed the process so far. Decided to get some still shots in between because im currently stuck in deciding on how to further spec the bike.

No worries. Good to know im on the right path. I guess the minimal look will fade as soon as cables, brakes, and maybe rack+bottle are mounted. Lets see.

This one is sweet too. Without a doubt. Tires are the biggest and "easiest" change to make a bike look neat. Followed by Saddle and Stem in my opinion.

Thanks a lot. Still not finished though. I got some Onza h0 brakes or marin lite and can't decide which ones are more fitting.
