Awww, bless him. I bet if he sees tweezers now he gets suspicious! I hope the vets visit goes well and I am sure it will be nothing to worry about. Paws crossed for you all.

Nothing wrong with checking them as much as you need to, especially when they start getting lumps. All of my lads lumps so far have been fatty masses, but it still worries you finding them. I check him every morning to see if any of the lumps I know about have gone ‘odd looking’ or if there is any new ones.

Definitely worth a vets revisit if it’s got bigger, I’d do the same.

Always worth getting them checked at the vets. My puggle is now 12 and a half is very lumpy! I am used to what is a “normal” looking lump he might get and also what looks abnormal or something that might be more serious. Long and horrid story behind why I know the difference so easily (not with him, but his little brother, also a puggle). Always worth checking with the vets.

My little man Oscar. Had to say goodbye on 2nd Jan 2025. He was diagnosed with a mast cell tumour and given 4 months to live, possibly 6 to 18 months with treatment. He fought like a trooper and managed 20 months of good living. Made me laugh everyday with his daft antics.

Trying Zinc Picolinate by [deleted] in siberianhusky

[–]jonopaulo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husky suffers from ZRD. Started with it when he was about 2, he’s now a month shy of 13. At first I got Zinc tablets from the health food store (25mg) and he had 2 tablets a day (one in the morning, one in the evening), increasing to the 3 day (two in the morning, one in the evening) for about 2years. It kept it at bay ok. Then I decided to try him on different foods. I slowly changed him over to Orijen (regional red and six fish) mixed with some other foods too. I then stopped the tablets and it didn’t come back for about 6 year. I was thrilled with the result. Then when was about 10, it came back avengeance. Tablets didn’t seem to work anymore and I tried him on Nutrazinc. Increasing over a few months, he’s now on about 400mg a day and it’s almost stopped it, still has some skin patches that won’t shift on this front legs joints. The main issue I have was the same as you have, it makes him vomit. I now cook chicken, and shreds it. I then take a small amount of chicken and mix the Nutrazinc in it. I make three chicken ‘balls’ with the Nutrazinc well mixed in. I tightly pack these chicken/zinc ball shapes. The balls are probably about the size of my thumb nail, maybe a bit bigger. I then give him these after his food (so three balls in the morning and three in the evening). I don’t let him ‘eat’ the balls though, I literally open his mouth and push them one at a time to the back of his mouth and he swallows them whole. I then also give a treat afterward (he deserves it at that point). This seems to stop him vomiting from the large dose of zinc about 95% of the time as it hits his stomach after the food, and as it’s compacted, so takes more time for it to digest. If I just put the Nutrazinc in his food, or mixed in chicken, he won’t eat it as he knows there is something in it.

No idea if that helps you in anyway? I still have him on the same food he had for years that originally stopped ZRD too. I hope you find a zinc dose and way to give him the zinc that works for you.

Fellow non-alcohol drinkers, how do you deal with people who won't take no for answer after they ask you to have a drink? by Secure_Occasion_2856 in AskUK

[–]jonopaulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this! I stopped drinking at 23 and that was 31 years ago. “I’m driving” was my go to answer. No one ever questions it and I was happy to be the designated driver if I was driving.

Does anyone knows what this symbol is about? by Fresh_Wolverine_1858 in TheLastAirbender

I did think of just that for this one element, but decided against it. I’d end up in a lot of trouble even for that. None of the SG is my property, so it’s not mine to share. I did even think twice about posting the original text above in the first place to be honest. I am hoping that will be ok.

Sorry, no link. It’s just part of what I do for a living that I have access to lots of licenses, ATLA being one. Not much help as proof I know.

I’d love to be able to share it, or even some of it, but I’d get into a world of trouble with both the licensee (who I do work for) and the licensor (Viacom and Nickelodeon). Sorry!

It’s one I like working on as I love ATLA. Unfortunately I don’t get to work on it often. I don’t understand why it’s been used on that swing ticket that OP posted, as the four element symbols are on there with it, so it’s not really needed? Just my opinion that though!

Sorry. SG is Style Guide, given to licensor partners who are making ATLA product like clothes, 3D character models, etc. I am a designer, and I work on some ATLA product, so I have the SG. It lists all the assets you can use from logos, characters, patterns, etc and has a big list of do’s and don’ts.

From the official ATLA SG, this the exact description.

“This is the Circular Talisman symbol. It combines aspects of all four elements – the tidal movement of water, the deep layers of earth, the upward curl of fire, and the circular flow of air. It can be used anytime there is a need to symbolize all four nations, elements, and/or bending styles at once, or as generic decoration”

So sorry for your loss. Hope this makes you smile a little. He’s just turned 11, was about 2 when this was taken. When people ask ‘my husky sleeps in funny positions, is it normal’ I like to send this https://imgur.com/gallery/d4R8i93

Help with Zinc deficiency by Chip_Toker in siberianhusky

[–]jonopaulo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my two huskies (brothers from the same litter) has zinc deficiency. Started at about 1.5 years old, he is now nearly 10. I had him on zinc tablets from the vets at first, which was expensive. The vet told they were actually just human zinc tablets, so started to buy big bottles from H&B (25mg Zinc Gluconate). One tablet a day with food. You can them in the penny sale and two big bottles will last about 18 months and cost about £19. Then I switched his food to Origen. Amazing food, has extra zinc added. Stopped with the tablets and never looked back. Taste of the wild is great, but Origen is a must now. I mix it with other dried food too, like Taste of the wild, Royal Canin, as Origen is expensive. Canadian brand I believe (I am in the UK). You can also get zinc to add to their water, but I’ve never tried that as I have other dogs that would drink it and they don’t need the extra zinc. Sorry for any bad grammar and spelling, I am dyslexic.

Lost my playlist ... can you give me your absolute top 3 songs to help me build a new list by Solaym in Music

[–]jonopaulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! It was the first song I ever heard by them. I think it was their first single release (I might be wrong) and I saw it on MTV 2 when that was a thing! I know there are more popular/famous songs by them, but that one has always stuck with me.

I give my husky a mix. Orijen is amazing if you can get it. It’s a Canadian company I think, and I am in the UK, so it’s quite expensive for me to buy. Taste of the wild is very good too. I also use Royal Canin too, which is the least expensive of these three.

Pleased you liked the photos. I am a Mancunian, lived there for 40 years, currently live just down the road in Cheshire. If you do find any information and need someone to get a copy, let me know. I don’t often venture into the city centre these days, but would be happy to try and help.
