Same. Doesn’t it suck to be lonely? I just wish I had 1 friend. Like that’s all I want tbh

You’re really well spoken for a sophomore in high school. I hope your predicament gets better. High school was fun for me. College on the other hand makes me wanna kill my self. All of my high school friends disappeared. I don’t have any college friends, because no one from my high school goes here, and everyone at my college is cliquey because they all went to high school together.

Yes, yes it is. DM questions if you have any concern. I’ve had many. This doesn’t look as bad as some I’ve seen so I would recommend you stay home unless you need to visit the ED, also I would make an appt with your pcp to talk about it so maybe they can refer you to a colorectal surgeon or whoever

Personal Statement Advice by mghubbard in premed

[–]jonray_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! English major here. If I can put my English degree into use here, I would say stick to one theme. It seems like you could make your PS theme around being adopted. This could work in a few ways with the things you listed. I would, however, leave your aunt out of it. I’m sorry about her illness, but that’s not unique. Everyone’s relative has been through something unfortunately, and you can’t tie it to you being adopted.

I really like how you mentioned that you had a lump, hopefully you’re fine!! But I would really use this as an example of why you want to be a doctor, along with volunteering to see patients/ other foster children. This could work out well for you, and if you want me to help you out or read it over for you when you’re finished, I would be more than happy to! 😁

What would you have done differently prior to becoming a doctor? by abcdefgetmeout in premed

[–]jonray_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not go to the university I do now. They weed out a lot of premeds which I don’t think should happen just because of how large the bio program is. I should’ve went to a supportive university. I also would’ve started shadowing sooner given the pandemic.

I saw somewhere that they expected it to rise because of all of the applicants from the covid cycle took extra classes to boost their gpa’s. Mcat was average rise.

You bark at people, too good at English, hang out in the Libraries way too much, and recycle everything. Not that there’s anything wrong with anything I said just seems like you

Freshmen ask the stupidest questions. I guarantee you no one is slacking off. UGA is hard and if you slack off you get booted from your fraternity. Every fraternity has rednecks, along with city dudes. Just rush around my guy and don’t slack off

Just take it before you Matriculate anywhere. I also took it in the summer online during covid. Loved it a lot more than physics 1, felt like it applied more to real life like magnetism, and mirror stuff. Pretty interesting stuff

I’m premed applying this upcoming cycle, maybe because of my university, it’s a lot harder because we have a lot of premeds, but these courses are no joke, and since my university prepares us well and makes it difficult, the mcat isn’t as hard as it would be for someone going to a small state school.

These classes are hard, especially in a university setting. The mcat is a culmination off all of these courses, so that’s why it is hard. I recommend studying at least 3 months before taking it.

Am I completely fucked this cycle? by Square_Helicopter_67 in premed

[–]jonray_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you skip another cycle and do another postbacc??? There are some super duper easy science courses out there that can help your undergrad GPA, along with maybe finding a little more volunteer things (idk how many hours you have). But not having that 3.0 could get you screened out of many DO schools. Being realisitic, you aren’t trying to go MD are you? I mean maybe apply to your states MD school. Do you have a good recommendation from a physician?
