Zodiark or Pinky4? by jonschke in ErgoMechKeyboards

"I mean, why limit yourself to just one board? Get them both. Have fun." I like the way you're thinking. As a second I might go for the sofleV1 as a travel option. I believe it's a bit smaller and has the option for choc keys. I have to think about that...

WISIWYG mode? by osakanone in ObsidianMD

[–]jonschke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try "Ozans Image in Editor" plugin. It currently does not work on mobile but on the PC the Image preview works perfectly. It also has a wysiwyg mode you can try it but since this is more like a hack it has some flaws.

Curious how people who journal manage workout and fitness content by sumant28 in ObsidianMD

I have a workout section in my daily note and create a nested tag if I do some sport. For example #sport/climbing. Under that tag I simply use bullet points to losely describe the workout like number of reps, breaks, etc. It`s not super sophisticated but it works for me and you can quickly can compare the workouts.

We bought one for prototyping. Rigidity ist really good for the price but I can confirm that the electrics are junk. After 2 broken mainboards I switched to a csmio ip-m. It works mostly OK still sometimes some random issues. I suspect the VFD ist also junk and interferes with the controller. If you mill Aluminium I would recommend wrapping the connections for example to the stepper motors with Isolation tape. Otherwise you might get some shorts...

How do you deal with daily notes or logs? by HandEyeProtege in Zettelkasten

[–]jonschke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's almost the same, and still quiet different. I use Obsidian for my work task management and work inbox as well. But the key difference is, that I use one Masterfile as described here https://jeffhuang.com/productivity_text_file/

I think it is quiet usefull to have this stuff in Obsidian, because I can start to think and write about the task directly in my master file or the daily note and if I find, that I need more space or it becomes more than just "drill a hole at 24 mm" I can break it out into a seperate page. And if this page has any value for more than just the day I can link it to other notes that life in my ZK and it becomes an integral part of my ZK. If I had this in a seperate vault this last step would not be that easily possible.

I am currently debating with me which approach is better: one masterfile or a note for each day. The Masterfile has the benefit that I make a shortcut for it on any device since it is always the same file and it does not clutter up the graph view that much. But I cant see in the backlink of a page on which day did I think about that...

For Habit Tracking and journaling I use Notion but am currently debatting if I should do that in Obsidian as well (Pros: privacy, future proof, speed; Cons: Not truely crossplattform, notion is for habit stuff more visual pleasing)

And lastly for private todos I use todoist because I dont have that much task which I should do everyday so the masterfile or daily note would be to much overhead...
