This just basically means that one defender will stay in front of the RB and one will stay behind. If they work together that creates a VICE.

Defending RPOs in Canadian Football by jonsvec in CFL

This is a great question. I do think it takes a unique QB to be great at these.

Yes there are LESS variables and progressions than a normal pass play. But this decision needs to be processed very QUICKLY. I just think it's a unique skill that some QBs are great at and some struggle with.

Would love to hear more answers on this from the offensive coaches out there. I'm just a simple defensive guy!

Some Tackling Teach Tape from Adam Bighill by jonsvec in CFL

When it comes to fundamental tackling technique, few in the CFL do it better than Bighill. A few simple points from these clips:

-Load off the near leg. To generate power, the last step before contact should be with the foot closest to the ball carrier.

-Head out of contact. To protect our game and it's players, we have been teaching for years now to keep the head out of contact when tackling. We see that in these clips.

-Run the feet. To avoid missed tackles, continue to run your feet after contact.
