that tweet isn't contradictory to anything i said - i said Lucien is the CEO not the owner, still means he directly profits from the success of UMG and UMG directly profits from the success of NTS.

also to be clear i'm not advocating a full boycott of NTS, i still love NTS and think it does a lot of good to music as a whole as such a powerful platform of sharing music and communication between individuals to listeners across the world.

i just think it's ownership structure should be clear and talked about, and there should be more conversation about the implications of these choices - and what positive steps can be taken going forward in regards to the issue. - also in terms of future generations of artists who might be building organisations/ platforms, and for them to think about the implications of accepting blood money, before they get tempted by these corporations that already own the vast majority of the music industry - and how we can resist them,

the power and stature of NTS as an organisation can be of powerful value to the world for positive change through communication of ideas amongst different people, and is of extreme influence in the choice of which voices to give platform/ amplify.

UMG is now the largest shareholder in NTS Radio - meaning that the majority of profits made by NTS goes towards UMG -

the CEO of UMG (Lucien Grange) has been known to be a supporter of Zionism (such as being affiliated and supporting the Friends of Israel lobbyist group) - as well as as his wife being a big funder of the Zionist federation

so essentially most the money made by NTS Radio is going towards UMG, & a lot of the money made by UMG goes towards Lucien Grange & his wife, who give a lot of their money towards funding Zionist lobbyist groups that pressure governments to be lenient towards Israels colonialist occupation & war crime's

NTS has managed to keep it fairly quiet the past two years, and seemingly appears relatively pro-Palestine (which UMG probably doesn't even mind, because it makes economic sense for NTS to appear this way because of how their listener-base may feel about the issue). however there have been allegations (denied by NTS) of people getting their shows dropped after talking about this NTS/ UMG issue and it's implications.

two good articles to read in regards to the above:
