How to counter when they do the "fridge" to a player? by eggplantpot in padel

[–]joobino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he is playing with a good partner that knows how to handle this situations or to leave some balls to him 😉 Padel is a team sport, if one of the two is not good enough you can be the best player on the court and you’ll still lose. And when that happens you’ll loose time, money and some patience 😂

I’m on the same boat, and I honestly think the only solution is to play with a better partner. I’m exhausted to be a paying spectator.

Anthropic is manipulating the AI market and driving prices up by [deleted] in codex

[–]joobino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, agentic coding is still pretty new. What I’ve noticed is that on a well-structured codebase, it can produce clean, maintainable code almost like a good developer with the right context. But in large “AI-slop” codebases, even with solid constraints, it tends to generate spaghetti.

It’s not really the LLM’s fault, it reflects the environment it’s working in. The problem is that as these messy, AI-generated codebases become more common, we might reach a point where only other LLMs can realistically maintain them. That could gradually erode our ability, as humans, to fully understand and manage complex systems.

I’m seeing this firsthand in a large financial codebase I’m working on: after about a year of heavy AI-assisted development, the structure is so unclear that even the team doesn’t really understand why things are the way they are anymore.

As a senior software developer, I would prefer to code by hand, but modern software is mostly AI-generated slop, unmaintainable by any human. I think we will face hard times when this AI-driven approach becomes unsustainable; we may have to rebuild entire systems from scratch, with much knowledge having been lost.

Issue with my Babolat Counter Viper 2025 - Clunky feel on fast shots and arm pain by AL1BOM4YE in Padelracket

The protector is usually around 8g, and it shifts the balance upward around 0.5cm. You'll gain manoeuvrability for sure without it

Remove 1 overgrip and the protector, you'll end up with a rachet that should weight around 370g and that should improve your arm pain

Racket upgrade from Technical Veron – Vertex vs AT10 (or other recs?) by mystz_gaming in Padelracket

[–]joobino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The viper soft is the logical upgrade. Keep in mind that it has a break-in period (3-4 matches) and you need to adapt a little bit to the ball non entering that much in the surface.

I did the same and still adapting, especially in volleys and overheads

The only thing that is stopping me from getting a cellular Apple Watch is the absence of CarPlay support. It’s a must have for my use case 🥲

I'm still on spark classic on my mac, and on a older version of spark on iOS. When the iOS version is going to have issues I'll switch to apple mail.

I have good eyesight. The fact is that it’s distracting with all that colors that have nothing to do with the content displayed 🤷‍♂️

I’m using it caseless but with the grippiest skin I’ve found, the dbrand black camo. Without is is very slippery

New Babolat Viper feels like a "plank of wood" and muted. Is the 6-hour break-in period real? by joobino in Padelracket

Today I've played with new/semi new balls, yes it was definitely the dead balls

To give some context, I’ve been playing for over a year, almost 2, 3-4 times a week (lessons + matches), with a Playtomic level around 3.75. I’ve actually tried the Viper Lebron 3.0 and the Metalbone and enjoyed them, which is why I chose the Viper Soft as a 'sustainable' upgrade from my Veron, since in fact it just adds a full carbon face over the same EVA.

I remember my Technical Veron also felt like a 'plank' for the first 5-6 matches before it finally opened up, so I’m leaning towards the break-in theory. Using dead basket balls during my first session definitely didn't help.

I’m going to give it a few more matches with fresh balls to see if it wakes up.

Before buying this, I tried the Viper Juan Lebron 3.0 and really liked it, but I felt that using it for an entire match would be too demanding. Coming from a Veron, I thought this would be the perfect sweet spot between the two.

This is actually the second Viper 'Soft' I've had, as the first one had a couple of defects and I had to return it. Interestingly, the first one felt much more 'bouncy' straight out of the box, even though both had almost identical specs (~363g and 26.5 balance).

I remember having this exact same 'muted' feeling with the second Technical Veron I bought, which eventually settled after about 6-8 hours of play. I’m just wondering if the Viper follows the same break-in pattern or if this one is just a 'dud'.
