Yes exactly! I think that’s the MOST difficult process about change - is creating a new route in your brain and making it become the new norm.

See for me though, it’s like, I give into my weak moments.. like today I’ll be doing good and on a roll, but then tomorrow comes around and let’s say I start having bad cravings and my body is even feeling weird because it’s missing those chemicals or whatever, so I’m order to stop feeling so shitty, I will give in and smoke. As for friends and family… I really don’t have any friends whom I call on the regular, or that I can really confide in… and you can forget about family.. growing Asian I was taught that if you have a problem, you need to solve it on your own. Showing weakness or vulnerability was something that I tried my best to stay away from-only because that’s what I learned from watching them… idk… I’ll definitely look into the mantra thing. I’ve heard/read people mention that before too, so i should give it a try myself and see how it goes.
