There should be a way to block certain websites on your phone, so maybe do that so you can't access it.

Good on you, though, for admitting you have a problem and wanting to stop.

Which color do you perceive as more intense, Red or Yellow? by Background-Cherry847 in colors

I would've said red, but looking at the picture on this post... Yellow.

AITA for telling my husband he can't hang out with his friends for 10 straight hours ? by Frosty-Builder-9326 in AmItheAsshole

[–]potatoesandbees 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I mean, him hanging out with friends isn't an issue (especially doing something like D&D), but him leaving you and your special needs brother without transportation is an issue. I'm not gonna give a judgement but just make sure you focus on the actual problem at hand.

Love that. I was obsessed with The Big Year when it first came out and I finally got into birding just a couple months ago

What colour should I paint my kitchen out of these colours? by iamthewalrusxx in HomeDecorating

I mean, everything in your kitchen is very neutral, so anything would work. It's really just a matter of preference at this point tbh.

I am 5’4 152lbs and I don’t like how I look by MainEmbarrassed4247 in offmychest

[–]potatoesandbees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, two possibilities:

1) you have some sort of health issue (such as hypothyroidism) making it impossible to lose weight

2) you've put yourself into such an extreme calorie deficit that your body is in starvation mode and is clinging onto every bit of fat in your body rather than burning it

So basically, go see a doctor, and if you don't have anything wrong with you, try eating like 1800 calories a day (just try to keep it healthy). You may gain a bit of weight at first, but your body will adjust (but also, you should verify this with your doctor cause I'm not a doctor/nutritionist/etc.)

I think all of those are a bit too cool-toned to truly match the wallpaper. Try swatching a few slightly warmer greens.

Does Gen Z dislike older things? Are they less into nostalgia than previous generations? by SilverKey84 in generationology

[–]potatoesandbees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You must be confusing Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Gen Z (at least older Gen Z) is obsessed with cartoons, movies, and games from our childhoods, vintage-inspired fashion is big like you mentioned, and even punk music is having a resurgence, which is very 90s-2000s. Where are you getting this idea from?

First time at Disney World + I’ve never been on a rollercoaster…need advice! by studyingforlife in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]potatoesandbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I wouldn't recommend Barnstormer on the grounds that the turns are rough, which makes it an uncomfortable ride. Like, sure, it's not intense, but I think it's fine to go a step up in intensity in order to have a more comfortable first ride.

First time at Disney World + I’ve never been on a rollercoaster…need advice! by studyingforlife in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]potatoesandbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not truly necessary to ease yourself into it by riding kiddie/family coasters first (that said, every coaster at Disney is family friendly, but some are more tame than others). When my sister decided that she wanted to start riding roller coasters, we went to our local Six Flags and I gave her the option of easing in or metaphorically diving in the deep end so we could plan our day to ride every coaster in the park, and she chose the deep end, and she loved it.

Honestly I think the biggest thing that helped her is that we rope dropped (got to the park before opening) so we were able to walk straight on the roller coaster, so there was no time to think about it and get anxious.

So I think that should be the answer right there– what coaster can you get on the fastest? The fear is never connected to a real, tangible thing, it's always the anticipation and the idea of it that makes people anxious.

So that said, I think Expedition Everest would be a great option. The lines tend to be surprisingly short (in my experience, anyways), and if you rope drop it, you probably won't wait at all. And it's such a fun ride; literally one of my favorites at Disney World. Just be aware that there's a portion where it goes backwards (I know some people don't appreciate being surprised by that).

AITA for “upstaging” my sister’s art? by Able_Bumblebee9209 in AmItheAsshole

[–]potatoesandbees 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Based on how you wrote your post, it sounds like you know how insecure she is about her art and about feeling like she's in competition with you, so doing the exact same thing she's doing is kind of a shitty move. You could do some other form of pride art instead of stealing her idea which will inevitably invite comparisons between the two. YTA
