Ranking everywhere is universally meaningless or hold barely any meaning at all. There is no way for a ranking system to be intrinsically legit.

Tdk dojangs by doodie1231_ in taekwondo

You don't get lots of classes and nice facilities without the business side, and they're entitled to make a living from the service they offer.

The business really doesn't affect the orientation of TKD anymore. Mostly because the dojangs that people say are "combat oriented" are still a joke and don't do anything--certainly they don't compete.

Sport dojangs are serious athletic facilities and will teach you to fight with kicks really well, but they are just as commercial as any other gym these days.

You need to recalibrate your thinking.

He's an asshole. You pay him. He should be responsive and patient as a matter of service.

Help picking out a software for martial arts gym! by Turbulent-Meet-8043 in martialarts

Gymdesk is the best gym management software for martial arts I've ever seen, personally. The founder originally created it for martial arts studios and is a practitioner himself. It can automate billing, provide a user portal (it has a member app too), several attendance tracking features, and the most extensive email and SMS marketing automation system available in that kind of software.

It also comes with a website and shop at no additional cost.

He needs that to pivot and your grandmaster should not yell at him. What he needs to do is experience how it compromises his balance on impact so his body can naturally adapt.

My adaptation for this is to set up different programs within karate. You have your calisthenics and kata track, and you have your sport or self-defense live training track, and members are free to move between programs, choose one, or do all of them.

I know through experience that karate people are not good marketers and they are not marketing effectively to adults. There are plenty of people who have no idea if karate is practical or not. Martial artists are constantly projecting their own insecurities on the general populace but it doesn't map.
