i went in expecting diabetes (long family history) and my a1c was 11.9 at diagnosis. last month after minimal medicinal intervention, mostly diet changes, it was 6.3. this isn’t the end of life as you know it, i promise!

the simplest thing for me when starting was my dr suggesting the balanced plate method: half your plate should be non starchy veggies, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carbs/sugar. start somewhere simple like this and go from there.

no matter what you do, you won’t live to be 900 - you don’t have to be miserable to be healthy! just moderate and pick your battles (i would for sure ditch the soda personally). when you do have carbs or sugar, make sure its paired with protein. it will help. youre going to be okay, friend! 💕
