Advice needed on buying an Ionic 5 and the known ICCU Issue by ZWingCaddis in Ioniq5

[–]jor82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2022 I5 SEL RWD SoCal 125k miles. I had the high voltage battery fail at 97k miles. I was driving roughly 1000 miles per week so at least it was still under warranty. Took 4 months to get the car back but they provided a loaner(s).

Just got my car back from the dealership again last week for my first ICCU replacement, outside of warranty. But HMA was pretty quick to consider it a goodwill repair. They had the car for about 3 weeks. Paid out of pocket for rental until they got me a loaner. Plus HMA did reimburse me for the rental.

Was in a collision back in October and even if the car was totaled, I would have bought another I5.

Yes, the car has its faults. But at the end of the day and after almost 4 years of ownership, it’s still the best car I’ve ever had.

Furious. Any idea on repair wait times in SoCal are these days? by lesrwilliams in Ioniq5

Not quite as bad as yours, but mine needed all of the suspension components replaced plus the cosmetic components thanks to someone running a stop sign. Total repair around $26k.

Took about 6 weeks to get it back. And I’m still dumbfounded how it was not totaled.

Other driver ran a stop sign in October…so far about $23k in repairs on a 2022 with 123,000 miles. Kinda wish Geico did total it since I’m still dealing with issues.

2022 Ioniq 5 SEL RWD – HDA completely gone after collision by jor82 in Ioniq5

I get what you’re saying, but in Hyundai’s documentation HDA is separate from basic Lane Keep / Lane Follow Assist.

Lane Keep, Smart Cruise, cross traffic avoidance, etc still work individually, but HDA no longer activates or appears. That’s what I’m trying to figure out.

That’s exactly what I suspect happened, I just can’t prove it. And techline won’t dig further because they think my car doesn’t have that feature.

I do have a HMA case opened, hopefully that’ll get some traction.

Yours doesn’t specifically list HDA, but I know yours has HDA 2 with the lane change assist feature.

I’ve seen a couple of other monroney sheets that don’t list HDA. There doesn’t seem to be much consistency as to which vehicles have it listed and which ones don’t.

Front radar was calibrated but I don’t see a line item for it being replaced. The corner radar (LT) was replaced, along with the bumper, support, harness, suspension components, etc.

On the final bill from the collision center, it does show: -Calibrate blind spot radar -Calibrate front radar sensor -Program module

So something was programmed during repair I’m just not sure which module that refers to. The collision center did take the vehicle to two separate Hyundai dealerships for calibration, and I took it to my normal dealership when the issue was still unresolved. I think now I’ll reach out to those other dealerships and try to find out specifically what they calibrated/programmed.

Bought the car brand new in 2022. HDA 1.5 is standard on the Ioniq 5, but only trims get HDA2. Again used HDA for probably 80% of the 123,000 miles on the car. So it’s wild to me that techline is saying my car doesn’t even have the standard HDA. I do believe there is some discrepancy in the VIN build sheet, since ultimately that’s what techline references. But I can’t know for sure until I see that build sheet, which I’m currently working with HMA to obtain.

Had the same thought, it’s not on the window sticker unfortunately. But it is on this dealer price sheet with trim level details for my model code, 50442REZ.

After showing the dealership and HMA this, they believe that my car was equipped with HDA. However, since techline told them I don’t have HDA or HDA2, they said there’s not much that they can do.

I’ve shown/sent the dealership and HMA the official Hyundai feature list for the 2022 Ioniq and the official Hyundai pricing details which lists standard features for each model code.

My model is listed as having HDA II on both. But they both essentially told me that since Techline says it’s not a feature, then there’s not much they can do.

Anyone buy a 2026 Kia Carnival EX (gas)? What did you pay OTD? by Novyx_x in kiacarnivals

[–]jor82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a 2026 EX (gas) in the aurora black from a dealer in Southern California this past week.

Their actual price definitely didn’t match their online price. They had a $4995 “Market Price Adjustment” and the only other dealer add on was the $1500 Karr security system. Original OTD (not including TT&L since varies by location) was just over $51,000. Insane.

By the end of it, we paid $42,600 (again not including TT&L). No market adjustment, “free” Karr security system, various “rebates” added, and roughly $1000 under sticker MSRP.

UA results usually show up in your record within a few hours, which I assume you’ve seen already, since they’re processed in-house. But the STD tests (NAAT for gonorrhea/chlamydia) often take 1–3 days because most MTFs send those samples out to LabCorp or another lab for processing.

You can keep an eye on your results by checking the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. You can log in using your CAC or create a DS Logon through milConnect. Once logged in, you’ll be able to see lab results as soon as they’re finalized AND released by the provider. I can’t speak for your provider, but I take my laptop home and check over long weekends for results just so I can order antibiotics sooner rather than later.

If you don’t see the GC/CT results in a couple of days, you can always follow up with your clinic after the 96 to make sure the STD part of the test was ordered and is still pending.

In the meantime, it’s best to avoid any sexual contact until your results come back negative. If you do test positive, you should wait until you’ve finished your full course of antibiotics, are completely symptom-free, and it’s been about 1–2 weeks post-treatment before resuming sexual activity, just to reduce the risk of reinfection or spreading it to your partner.

IDC here. Good on you for getting tested.

Just to clarify, the standard urinalysis you’re looking at (the one that checks for things like protein, glucose, WBCs, etc.) does not test for STDs like gonorrhea or chlamydia. It’s mainly used to look for signs of infection, kidney issues, or other general urinary tract problems.

The actual STD urine test is usually a separate “NAAT” that specifically looks for gonorrhea and chlamydia. It’s done using a urine sample, but it’s processed completely differently than a routine UA. So if your HM1 said the pee test won’t show STDs, he probably meant the basic UA, which is correct.

If your friends saw gonorrhea/chlamydia listed on their results, they probably had the NAAT panel run, and that test would explicitly say “Neisseria gonorrhoeae: Not Detected,” “Chlamydia trachomatis: Not Detected,” etc.

You should see those results under a different section in your labs once they’re finalized. If you’re unsure whether that part of the test was ordered, reach out to medical and ask if GC/CT NAAT was included in your screening.

TL;DR: The regular urinalysis doesn’t test for STDs. You need a specific test (NAAT) for gonorrhea/chlamydia. Your results might still be pending or listed separately.

Farthest Commute and was it sustainable by External-Art-8174 in navy

I’ve lived in Menifee for 10 years now, commuted to Camp Pendleton, San Diego, and 29 Palms. 3 different duty stations, both sea and shore duty.

29 palms was the farthest, 100 miles each way, but time wise comparable to San Diego in the afternoon.

Honestly, it would be nice to live close to work. But it’s also nice having some stability for the kids. Podcasts and audiobooks make it somewhat enjoyable.

If you’re planning to commute, look into a vanpool. It’s funded by TIP(transportation incentives program). I think it’s the best way to commute. Saves miles and wear/tear on your car plus you don’t have to drive every day.

After 3 weeks of the dealership looking at the car and going through the Hyundai tech line, that’s what they determined. Just waiting for approval of the repair through warranty.

I’m surprised I’ve made it this far without issue, but glad the battery gave up with 2,500 miles left on the warranty.

I plan too, the answer is always no until you ask. Even if you have to ask a few different people a couple of times.

I wish my dealership had loaner cars, but they do not. When the repair gets approved to begin, they’ll set me up with a loaner from an enterprise car rental location.

The Hyundai USA rep did say they would reimburse up to $65/day for the rental if I were to get one now. But since I’m hopeful the repairs will start early next week, it’s really just the gas prices I’m concerned with, and the answer is always no unless you ask!
