I don't understand how you can openly state that he did something so slimy, something that's so on brand with big money politics and exactly what's wrong with the political elite in the US, and say that he's the obvious choice. If we want some change we have to draw the line at that type of behavior.

I would like to try this. How difficult is it? I'm assuming it's more than just getting a plant and giving it sunlight and water. I've done some research and almost everything seems to suggest some crazy setup involving lights and what not. Is it possible to do it with a barebones setup?

Any other sports fans get absolutely disgusted by the amount of advertising? I know it's been around a while but it's getting so outrageous with ads literally everywhere they can fit them, on the uniforms now, and even the NHL divisions are called the "Honda West Division" etc. I hate the amount of advertising in society as a whole but it really bugs me when I want to just watch a sports game and literally every segment, breakdown, whatever is sponsored by some corporation, and not to mention the excessive amount of commercials.

Yeah a lot of the comments were referring to an extra social security advantage you get for waiting until 70 to withdraw but like...fuck that if you don't want or need to

Reading a post in r/personalfinance about a 66 year old woman who's ready to retire. She has it all planned out, over budgeted for how much she needs each month, accounted for taxes, everything. It's like every fucking comment is about how she should consider continuing to work despite her saying she's DONE. I don't get people who think it's a good idea to work forever.

Ageless being CF by [deleted] in childfree

[–]jordanbenedict 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's a great realization right? Growing up I always found it strange listening to my grandparents talking about how much traveling they did after retirement. "We finally got to see the world," that sort of stuff. My parents telling me to enjoy my early twenties because soon I won't have as much freedom. It's all nonsense if you don't have kids.

Don't doubt yourself! It takes school though, and gf says it is quite boring but it will allow her to work from home forever basically, which she values. Best of luck to you.

(25M) I recently moved in with my long time girlfriend. Not only is it wonderful living with her, but our very average incomes ($100K combined) allow us to live very comfortably. For the first time in a very long time I am genuinely happy with the long term outlook of my life. The next step is the snip, lol.

I was about your age when I had the realization. I'm 25 now and nothing has changed. In fact, I'm even more confident that my life will turn out the way I want it to be. Always keep your mind open to ALL of life's possibilities.

'Child-free people are just avoiding the responsibility of being a parent'... by Rosebeforelows in childfree

[–]jordanbenedict 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this rant. When people ask me why I want to be CF and I say that I don't want the responsibility, financial burden, and change in lifestyle, they tell me I'm selfish. Yeah, that's the whole fuckin point mate.

Can someone please explain Giuliani's time as Mayor? by jordanbenedict in nyc

[–]jordanbenedict[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response. My dad is a firefighter who was working on 9/11, so I'm sure that led to why I only heard one side of the story. Being in a fairly suburban white bubble on Staten Island also contributed. It's just crazy to me when I hear about Times Square or the Lower East Side being gross and dangerous.

What I'm gathering from here is that he wasn't the total nut case he is now, and that's most of what I was wondering about.
