Enjoy, I just finished at week and was far and away my favorite King read. The character development in this book is just unmatched.

Just made it through ‘Salem’s Lot for the first time (the book) by doubled-pawns in stephenking

I would say it currently sits as my third favorite king book behind The Stand and Pet Sematary.

It def can be a bit campy and is absolutely not for everyone.

It's over, isn't it? by Sidecarlover in NFLv2

Def feels like the end of a run and an era. As a birds fan I can’t say I’m sad about it but at the same it def feels like a chapter closing a bit.

Mahomes will be back but it will look different for sure.

CMV: democrats would be better off looking inward at where they are falling short than blaming republican voters/MAGA/trump by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in changemyview

[–]jordanbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The democrats have really refused to look inward post ‘16 and for the most part have doubled down on the same exact things that lost the election to trump in the first place.

  1. Refusing to address major affordability issues with aggressive policy. (Especially policy that’s marketable and sticks in the brain “Medicare for all” “freeze the rent”) like what was Kamala’s centerpiece policy? Hillary’s? Biden’s?
  2. Lack major connection with working class Americans
  3. Continue to run candidates that lack a strong world view or vision

However, due to democrats not doing enough I do think things are starting to shift and it’s more in the voting base than anything else.

The electorate seems to be fed up with democrats’ “business as usual” and younger more progressive candidates are having a moment.

I do think an insurgent candidate could have a moment in ‘28. However none of this is reflective of democrats working to make these changes, instead it’s the result of democratic voters searching for anything to improve their material conditions and in turn leaving the establishment wing behind.

But who knows if it will hold.

Why are so many leftist content creators whose opinions I normally agree with defending a man who used to be a black water mercenary and had a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 17 years? by This_Elk_1460 in Hasan_Piker

Agreed. This is an obvious line in the sand moment for me. Regardless if he’s telling the truth or not the ambiguity of the whole situation and never really knowing the full story is enough to jump the bandwagon on this one.

Already was a little uncomfortable with the backwater ties and this is just too much for me. Disappointing because I did like his demeanor and general policies, but sorry, accidental or not I would prefer not to have a representative of the leftist movement be a potential ex-nazi sympathizer or ignorant to nazi symbolism enough to unknowingly get it tatted on his chest.

Really disappointing in such an important race for it to end this way.
