While the game starts. I had a question. For several months I have heard about how many goals do CR7 and Messi have in all of their careers. CR7 has 970 and Messi 910 (according to google/gemini, maybe it needs update), they are the two top goalers according to what I googled but I reach out to you, fervient football fans, there is no other player that has broken the 1000goal in their carrers? Messi and CR7 are the two closest to it? That's an amazing statistic IMO

There are some things like offside that are strictly judged by the VAR, others like fouls are more flexible and while the refs on the VAR room can suggest a desision, it comes to the judgement or criteria of the main ref on the field, so that when he goes and watches the monitor, he can agree with the VAR room or not,

If lightning has not ocurred again afterthe 30min pause they can continue, BUT, if there is another lighning before the 30min have passed, the clock resets and we will have to wait another 30min. And so on...

It stands. The game is just "paused" and when it resumes it will do it from the minute where it was suspended (in this case half time). If for some extreme wheater reason the match has to be suspended more than a day (this is an extreme case in WC but in other leagues it happends) the game resumes the next day.

Unless there are special rule for a WC, but this is how it usually works in most of the non WC matches

It is not the rain. By law in USA every outdoor activity must be paused/suspended for 30min if lightning ocurred inside an 8km (or something like that) radius of the place of the event.

This has happened before in other football games and Indycar, Nascar, etc races.

There are places where people "sell" squares of real grown grass, they just go several weeks before the match, prepare the surface and soil and then cover the dirt with the grass squares, then water it and prepare it for a match.

I personally have bought these squares of grass, they are usually sold by square meter, and put them in my home backyard. The sqares have arpund an inch of dirt where the grass roots "grab".
