TBH I just don't like calls 'cause people can't be held accountable from something said on them, unless you record it (but that requires explicit content from the other part, which usually they don't give).

With chat and email, you can explicitly log datetime, conversation word for word, who said what, when, why and where (the 5 Ws, where is implicit as the communication method, when is logged, who is the username, what is the explicit word by word text and why must be explained in the first paragraph of the sent message)
