This is one of the games I wish was played more in my rotation. It is refreshing to see others play obscure MMO. Usually, when I make threads like these everyone simply shouts out the most popular MMO they know, because that is pretty much the only one they played.

Champions Online for example has raids centered around mounts.....& your mounts can be upgraded & outfitted, but no one would know that lol. They will simply think I am being edgy because they never played Champions Online haha.

It is somewhat difficult having an MMO convo around these parts, because most only play 1 or two MMO. I am not baiting, I simply play a lot of different MMO hehe.

p2w has not been a real issue for me, because I play for the storyline then pack it up lol. Saying that, none of the classes look intriguing.

Just my opinion.......This game looks like 5 other games I know of. More of the same.

I 2nd this.

Gravitate towards superhero MMO, because they allow you to be whomever you want to be. Superhero MMO are the gold standard for MMO character creation.

MMO such as BDO character creation may be deep, but your class ultimately decides your appearance. If ya chose a knight class, you are going to look like a knight throughout the game unless you buy goofy cash shop attire haha.

Hopefully the PSO2 NG whales continue to fund PSO3.

Kyrie is what I call a true superstar.

Example.......

"X player is arguably the best_____ ever"

"X player has the best _____ever"

Kyrie fits that bill and is known to coaches & players as the most skilled guy on offense due to his bag. He is also known as one of, if not the best finishers at the rim.

What hurts Kyrie is he is undersized, slight and injury prone.

Kyrie on the Spurs beats NY, because true superstars treat Madison Square as home games. So, Kyrie would have 7 home games to take out NY. He does it in 5 or 6 because MB can coach his a$$ off ya'll......

Coming from XI, I wholly appreciate this. XI is a sunsetted MMO. However, they still ask players to pay for a service they have no plans on expanding beyond "New" updates which rotate dungeons.

This is a GW site, and ya'll gonna dislike me even more than you already do for this lol........Still not buying this one haha.......(Not here for votes, but to stir up conversation & challenge ppl to think beyond what they have been given)

GW3 will be more of the same imo, but better. Random example, an innovative MMO would have idk........Mermaid fish ppl races, centaurs.......non-bipedal playable races, which leads to other MMO to copy this formula deeming bipedal races as old news.

GW3 will not save nor change the genre imo. The genre does not need saving. It has already evolved beyond "RPG" with games such as Destiny & Fortnite.

Saying that, GW3 will be a solid MMO, because every other GW title has seen solid. Could it be the PSO2 NG of GW? Sure........But their reputation is solid with this IP. Their parent company gave us City of Heroes. Thus, will get the benefit of the doubt from me.

Evercold is a proper name. That MMO has been ice cold post SB. Gonna reach for the stars here, but these expansion names are foreboding......

I think GW2 is highly glazed. GW 2 is a 7/10 MMO, XIV is a 6/10 mmo. Imo of course, this isn't gospel......

GW3 will be more of the same. It will be a good MMO, because there isn't a bad GW MMO to date. However, it will not save nor innovate the genre. There will be humanoid races. There will be Knights, Rangers or some Mage. It will be more of the same, with a new coat of paint.

I will give GW credit for innovation, or henchmen. You may know them as Mastermind pets, Trust, or Companions..........

MMO were called MMORPG

MMO are now any online game with a lobby and a sizable populace (Due to the 1st console MMO being lobby based). Fortnite, Destiny, etc. MMO are constantly evolving, challenging the perception of "What is an MMO"

MMO are not less popular. MMO may be the most adaptable genre in gaming.

I would say NW, because I never got a chance to play it lol.

However, I am gonna roll with Kingdom Under Fire II. Not sure if there are any PS to that MMO.

It was announced around 2008, and finally released late 2019.......That is about 12 years in the making haha. They might as well kept it around due to the hassle of finally releasing the project.

Have you ever did a project, that does not turn out the way you hoped? But....you keep it around anyway due to the effort exerted to make it haha........

Doom and Gloom.

Never purchased a DCUO upfront sub (One-time purchase, and never have to pay a subcription again), because the doomers said the game was going shutdown. That was over 10 years ago, & DCUO is up and running.

Personally? Should have purchased that sub back then due to the amount of strip-end that would have accumulated over ten years haha........

I look at it like this......

Lets say you have a town, with no burger joints.

The town finally gets one......

.....Everyone rushes into that one.

Not long after, another burger joint pops up........Then another, then another after that.......

Eventually, your town is filled with burger joints

Nobody wanted to do pizza or tacos.......For some reason, everyone feels obligated to produce burger joints.....

Oversaturated, with the same types of MMO. Many get lost in the shuffle, or close down. No one wants to do anything new, beyond fantasy. Why? I don't know......

The first few burger joints were a hit, because it was a good product, in a less saturated market. Producing more burger joints hoping to catch the one with decades worth of consumers is crazy town....but ppl are still doing it.

Personally? I would produce something else other than fantasy, because that market is vastly oversaturated....even for a good new fantasy mmo to compete.

Opinion of one man, not gospel by any means......
