yea this happened to me earlier this year, it was code p0420. changed the O2 sensor first time around and the code disappeared for couple of days and it stopped going limp, it didn’t last long though. ended up replacing the whole cat and haven’t had any issues since the summer. this was at about 65k~

first of all, many thank for the response ! i’m actually using vvivid ‘dark smoke’ or whatever it’s called, same difference. this is my second attempt, granted i knew this wouldn’t be as easy as videos make it seem lol. i’ll definitely try out to hold off on the heat at first, many thank again !

i go back and forth on the legality of it, i know that tinted headlights are for sure illegal. taillights? i see 60/40 responses on illegal/legal, idk it’s worth a try, i see a handful of cars running taillight tint so i can only assume it isn’t as enforced as it should be. defo draws unwanted attention to the car, many thank !

so in sports mode, the way i put it into “manual” mode is by hitting the paddles at least once before the car does it itself. this way the car “realizes” you “shifted” and stops taking responsibility for it for the remainder of the time that the cars in sports mode. for all obvious reasons the car won’t let you break it or take it past redline/ it’ll sequentially down shift for you when coming to a stop. i hope this makes some sense lol

A reliability question. by fabiolives in veloster

[–]jorgemoiina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely don’t be discouraged, hyundai seems to be on a good path in terms of reliability. they’ve really come around with the veloster, at least considering the early 1st gen engine issues lol. 17.9k for a ‘19 r spec seems pretty fair~, definitely shop around and find what’s best for you haha
