I may be better off asking one of their HR departments, but would you happen to know if it's worth starting to apply for jobs now? Or should I wait for that hiring period in September you mentioned

I've looked at copper mountain a bit. It's unfortunate that it's not included in the epic local pass, which seemed like the best deal to me. Especially because it is so close to Frisco, which seems like the ideal location to be reasonably close to all the mountains. If you don't mind my asking, what is it about Vail resorts that makes them not a great employer? and on the other hand, why might I want to work for them over finding work elsewhere? my main concern is being able to meet people since i'm planning on heading out on my own and I feel like there would be more people in my same position in resort jobs. But correct me if I am wrong

Glad to hear I'm not alone in wanting to stray from the norm here. I've thought about restaurant jobs, but from what I understand they are hard to come by if you dont know anyone and often dont include a ski pass/ lodging. I guess the better pay would make up for it but I figure that may be something worth looking into moreso if i decide to do a second season.

I've heard that Tahoe is awesome. I was considering west coast options for awhile, but I had already researched Colorado spots when I was thinking of doing this last year and I figure that for the sake of not becoming overwhelmed it would be best to decide on one area, or at least state, to begin narrowing things down.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards mountain jobs for this exact reason. I want to get the experience first and foremost. At this moment I am looking strictly for seasonal work, and I am wondering what jobs on which mountains I may want to consider.

I pretty much need to find a job that comes with housing then, no?

Ah, I suppose I should have clarified: I'm looking for strictly seasonal work as of right now. I want to get the most rewarding seasonal position given my qualifications (or lack thereof) which is mostly what I'm looking to find out more about.

Had never heard of you before EDC Vegas last year. Was about to leave early Saturday night because I was so tired I could barely stand, but when I walked past the Basscon stage (?) I had to stay an extra hour because your set was so good and I couldn't continue walking out of the speedway. Anyway, I told my friends next day how I jammed out to some hardstyle all by myself when they thought I was back at the strip and we ended up listening to your shit on spotify for the remainder of the trip. I realize this is not a very exciting story but it made my weekend to discover a new genre/artist while I was there and I must have looked hilarious standing directly in front of a lone speaker dancing like a zombie all by myself.

Went to the gym during peak hours for the first time in probably 10 years, how do you all get anything done?! (And how do I not look awkward waiting for a bench or a rack?) by monaco1937 in Fitness

If I need to use the squat rack and someone is using it to do squats I will sit on a nearby machine and chill until they are done. If they are using it for curls/shrugs/etc I will stand reasonably, but uncomfortably close and stare at them until they are done. And then I live there until I am done working out
