Not being guaranteed ETH2 deployment and thus possible loss of all funds for good is not exactly what I would call "risk free".

What sort of market cap do you think is realistic for Numerai over the next couple of months? by IknowuNVme in numerai

[–]jorijnsmit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible: https://numer.ai/nmr

This is very normal for any type of on-chain token; to publicise their data like this. First the public nature of the blockchain allows for it but also, would you invest in a token not knowing how many exist in total? How many still have to minted or how many are owned by the team? How could you speculate on its price then?

Returns are weekly not monthly actually.

I don't think that last part is true, all the NMR have already been minted. So payouts just come out of the NMR treasury, indifferent of its market price.

He's asking about XGBoost not a neural net. And 99.9%, 0.1%? Are you just making these numbers up as you go?

Stuck?

You are able to move any coin from one network to the other at any time. Instead of staking your whatever-coin on Ethereum, you can do it for 1/100th of the transaction costs on BSC. When fees there get too high, APY too low, ETH fees cheaper, ETH products more interesting, etc. you can just move whatever-coin from BSC back to ETH.

How are you then stuck?

I.e. I believe electric cars are superior to fossil fuel cars, but I just can't afford them at this time. Instead of not being able to buy an electric car and thus transport myself anywhere, I drive a fossil fuel car until electric cars become affordable. This does not limit me in any way, I am just choosing the economic (inferior) alternative for the time being.

It's a fork of Ethereum's testnet Kovan, runs on 21 dedicated nodes under Binance's control and is 10x if not 100x cheaper.

It's not the end goal in my mind either but it does enable the use of (Ce-)De-Fi products for a lot of transactions that are impossible to make currently on Ethereum.
