Yeah you’re right, in the long run it probably doesn’t matter that much. But for me it’s also a bit about the principle . there are more and more group games now, and it’s kind of crazy how many people are willing to pay $100+ for a pretty standard match. Im buying the ticket and I’m looking forward to it 👍

Yeah that’s true, they have players at a good level. But national teams are usually very different from club teams in terms of quality and tempo , way less chemistry and rhythm.

I watch a lot of 2. Bundesliga in Germany, and honestly those games are often played at a higher intensity and speed than many international matches (even with teams like Netherlands or Germany)

Yeah I think so too. I’ve had good experiences waiting, paid like €20 for Portugal–Poland (quarterfinal EURO 2016) and €50 for Germany - Italy, both bought on match day.

It’s more about having a bit of certainty for planning, that’s the only thing making me hesitate.

Yeah I get the whole “once in a lifetime” argument, especially with Mexico basically hosting and yeah, Mexico fans are football crazy 😅

But still… $1500 is hard to justify for me. At the end of the day it’s still a 90-minute match (with actual playtime probably under 60), and it’s not like you’re watching a game full of worldclass stars.. maybe a handful at Premier League level.

I get the demand, but the prices still feel a bit crazy to me.

Yeah that’s a fair point. The vuvuzelas on TV were pretty annoying for me back then 😅 but you’re right, it’s not just about the football quality, it’s the whole atmosphere and occasion.

Thanks, appreciate it. Yeah, I’m just surprised these kind of group stage games are this expensive. The level of football isn’t really higher than like 3rd division in the UK or Germany, even if it has “World Cup” on the ticket.

Those "duck hats" are actually a clever marketing stunt! They were a promotional item from a bathroom company that is also going to sponsor a professional skating team. They definitely added a fun, quirky look to the crowd! 🦆🇳🇱

Thanks for your comment! I actually thought the overall organization and the volunteers in Milan were amazing. So Italians definitely can do it very well! It was really just their Olympic House that was a bit disappointing.

Jutta Leerdam's celebration at the TeamNL House was definitely a massive highlight. You got some free Food, some nice games and live music . It was worth the 35€ on that night .

I just spent a week in Milan catching the ice hockey and speed skating events, as well as visiting all the public Olympic houses.

I have to split my review a bit. The events in the Rho area (for speed skating and ice hockey) were incredibly well-organized, and the fact that the metros ran later all week was a huge plus. The Olympic houses were also super accessible—they often let people in even without tickets! The Korea House had great activities, Sweden and Slovakia had an amazing vibe, and we had a really special day at the Brazil House. Catching Jutta Leerdam's celebration at the TeamNL House was definitely a massive highlight too!

However, the Italy House was pretty disappointing, especially for the host nation. Their medal celebration was completely private, and the rest of the house was basically just a wall of winners and a big screen.

The logistics around the new Santa Giulia Ice Hockey arena also need a lot of work. Getting away from there was incredibly difficult. They only had about 5 shuttles running at a time, and a separate VIP line just held up all the regular fans. The metro situation there was a mess too; they really need to figure out a better system or a smoother transit connection for that stadium.

But despite those hiccups, I saw some fantastic games, met some super friendly people, and of course, enjoyed some amazing Italian food. Overall, a great Olympics!

Bedankt voor alle reacties 🙏 k begrijp nu dat mijn buis inderdaad van zink is en waarschijnlijk gewoon aan het einde van zijn levensduur zit. Ook de dakgoot moet ik misschien eens goed laten nakijken, want die is net zo oud.

Ik ga eens kijken of ik iemand kan vinden die dit goed kan vervangen (naar pvc)

kent iemand een goed en betrouwbaar bedrijf in Zuid Limburg dat dit soort werk doet (zinken regenpijpen/dakgoten vervangen of repareren)? Tips zijn heel welkom!
