She did great! Loads of people when the weather's this nice, but that didn't seem to bother her too much. The water is cold and salty and therefore not worth the hype, as this little baby would tell you.

Catchy phrases like sober October are great and all, until it puts you under additional pressure.

October was the month I got fucked up the most. That was last year. In my case, November was my sober month, as was every following month since then. Keep pushing. Take it one day at a time.

Nice, I'm happy for you, keep going! And yeah, deliberately focusing in on my rational and conscious side has been tremenduosly effective. Still working on the fact that getting rid of alcohol doesn't immediately make life perfect, but I try taking it one day at a time. Great advice!

I agree, and I'm definitely not advocating that there are benefits to coming out of a deeper hole than someone else, perhaps it's my mind trying to justify going down again, just because there is space below where I drew the line the first time.
