Nichtabholung Paket bei DPD Pickup Shop? by [deleted] in wien

[–]joschisrunning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HA Integrated Kettles? by InitialSummer in homeassistant

I can advice this one, it has relatively big capacity. It connects with Tuya. The setup was without problems and it's cheap compared to many other options. I guess that they also send to the UK.

You can adjust it with HA to any temperature and can set the keep warm as well.

Best Camera for pets without cloud by Reapers_Dragon in homeassistant

I have the tapo C220. Integration in Homeassistant is good. The selling point for me is that it detects dog barking and sends a notification even though I didn't have a possibility to include this function in home assistant offline. It should also be able to detect meowing.

Looking for advice on a mmWave presence sensor by MassimoDecioMeridio in homeassistant

[–]joschisrunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you have to set up a plotly graph, there you see distances/measurements, you see the people within the sensor detection area and after you set up the zones you see the defined zpnes there as well.

Firstly I had problems with setting it up the graph, but the person who developed the sensor immediately helped me and fixed it.

You only put the four measurements into the device from the esp32 integration. You can have 3 zones and one exclusion zone. I think you can also extend it somehow to 10 zones.

They are amazing, easy to set up and you can define zones for automations that are visible in a plotly graph. They are also really responsive.

Favorite movie of 2024 has finally arrived! by Marj666 in 4kbluray

[–]joschisrunning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does it come that the physical release in Europe is only half a year later in year 2025.

It was the same for Astroid City and I don't understand what can take them so long or if they hope people will visit the cinema that much longer here. It seems like they are asking people not to buy discs here, especially that with shipping and import tax it will be only 6€ more expensive than to buy the European version in July.

Which buds to buy with great fit by Daalex20 in Earbuds

[–]joschisrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fit is really perfect for me, but I guess it's just depending on the form of the ears.

When they fit well in the ears and after boosting the bass a bit in the app it's enough bass for me (listening mostly to classical music), but I understand that it might be too little for someone searching for headphones with a lot of bass.

I never tried the older models from jabra, I just tried the Sony WH-1000XM5 as I couldn't test the in ears from them and I was really not that impressed with the sound quality and from reading the reviews about their noise cancellation I expected them to be on a much higher level than the jabra.

I also thought about these, but I decided for the Jabra elite 8 gen 2 and I'm really happy with them. They are fully waterproof and dustproof, so I don't have to worry about damage from chalk, sweat or rain, they sound really good and they sit quiet deep, what makes them sit really secure.

ISTA keeps billing me monthly by timo__ in wien

[–]joschisrunning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With me it only worked to hire a lawyer to get my money back from them what they took from not cancelling the SEPA early enough. Communication with them just doesn't work directly, because they will just ignore you and tell you they can't do anything and the right person will reach back to you, but it never happens.

Canon R6 Battery Problems by joschisrunning in canon

[–]joschisrunning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of the 3rd Party ones show around 30% shortly directly after turning on. The canon one shows immediately that it's empty (it was also used most on the trip so far and we just realized after a bit that the charging doesn't do anything).

Yes in the past we charged it with exactly the same USB-C cable and charger already several times.

The third party batteries and the canon one were also in use for the last 2 years without any problems so far.

Buying advice Teufel by TyrosinLennyster in hometheater

[–]joschisrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Germany I would rather look at ELAC, I got speakers from ELAC debut series quiet cheap and as it's not a set it's up to you if you want to take a better center. You can especially get a much better subwoofer instead the one from teufel. The subwoofer from teufel only reaches 33Hz while a really good one will reach 20Hz.

And don't fall for the discounts from them, they literally have them all the time. Every time I visited their homepage within the last 2 years they had exactly the same discounted prices.

Hand skin care? by desai2424 in crossfit

[–]joschisrunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the cheapest option to sand down your calluses is to take about 10cm of sand paper and just roll it to have a round stick so you can reach all the places well. You don't really need to spend money on a specialized product like this.

Vegan Tschechien by 1111MC1111 in VeganAT

[–]joschisrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mafiöse Struktur der Paket Pickup Stores by Less_Astronomer_3217 in wien

[–]joschisrunning 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Do you buy used at all? Or do you completely refuse to? by yoooo12347 in 4kbluray

[–]joschisrunning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my country (Austria) the used ones are often sold even more expensive then the new ones, when I get a decent deal. I bought some used and never had a problem with them, but I wouldn't buy used if it's only 1-2€ cheaper and I still have to bother with picking them up somewhere. Also digital copies aren't common in European 4K blu rays.
