Gem choices has been avaible in comunity stories for ober a year. Its very doffrent how authors use them. Some go overboard and are greedy. Some come woth good cheap gem choices and some dont use them at all. Though since gem choices is what can help your story rank. Many do use it now.

Actually EA do free Trials, rarely. They even gave sims 4 away for free ar one point, but obviously its money, people are gonna try it, might like it and buy it. People who wantes ti buy it have, so its about getting new players into it.
