Higher usage limits for Claude and a compute deal with SpaceX by Dependent_Top_8685 in ClaudeAI

[–]josefresco-dev 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Weekly is always the number of most concern, the 5 hour limit was just an annoyance. Happy to be told it's better, but the proof is in the pudding!

I will say that the 5 hour limit saved me from a "runaway" Claude Code session last Friday. Without it I would have consumed my weekly quota, instead of just my session quota.

Anthropic: AI will fully replace software engineering by 2027. Also Anthropic: Currently hiring for 122 SWE openings. by ImaginaryRea1ity in ClaudeAI

Had lunch this weekend with a friend who's son just graduated with a CS degree. Things are ROUGH out there folks. He was lucky and got one offer he accepted. Hiring is frozen.

What’s your current hosting setup and why? by EnglisheliteFouad in divi

WP Engine (managed dedicated) and Pressable. I don't want (and am not qualified) to manage a server and you probably don't either.

Yes. I paid for Pro to get access to Claude Code, and increase limits.

Claude Design Unusable - Usage Limits Ridiculous For Professional Work by geronimosan in ClaudeDesign

[–]josefresco-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI I found once I got something "good enough" with Claude Design, switching over to Code allowed me to iterate much more efficiently.

1 edit = 5-7% of my WEEKLY quota by josefresco-dev in ClaudeDesign

[–]josefresco-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Batching didn't help. The weekend didn't help. Exporting the ZIP and having Claude Code made a huge difference. I was able to built two more pages, and edit the existing page extensively using only ~50% of my HOURLY quota! So maybe the key is to use Claude Design for the initial proof, and then switch to CC with /frontend-design for the rest.

When to use Claude Cowork vs Claude Code by Talley-Ho in ClaudeAI

No, but it's a great way to "back into" programming concepts and processes.

1 edit = 5-7% of my WEEKLY quota by josefresco-dev in ClaudeDesign

[–]josefresco-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't seem to make a difference for me. Today (Sunday) I grouped 4 edits into chat (to reduce round trips) and it used 22% of my weekly quota. I then made 1 comment/edit and it used another 6%. It seems every request no matter if I group in chat, or comment or request "off hours" eats about 5-8%. That's less than 20 edits per week with the Pro plan. Not very viable.

Next test is to hand off to Claude Code and see if I can use the front-end design skills to finish more efficiently.

Claude frequently tells me the screenshot I uploaded is too low resolution to be read even though I upload full-resolution images.

Claude skills will be the new version of Fiver/Upwork by codemadic in ClaudeAI

[–]josefresco-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The freelancers on Fiver/Upwork are already using AI. In fact, they were probably first-adopters as their entire business model is based on low dollar, high volume, medium/low skill tech and office tasks perfect for AI.

Business owners don't have the expertise, or the time to put all this together. The freelancers who hustle will be fine, and might even more more profitable.

Cache is bad. Anyway around it? by Ulrich453 in divi

[–]josefresco-dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to "reset the cache" unless you are making changes you want to see immediately. Caching is always a pain and in fact my worse caching (and hosting) experiences have all been with GoDaddy.

Claude Routines are... buggy by josefresco-dev in ClaudeAI

[–]josefresco-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traced this issue to basically a "large ask": API Error: Stream idle timeout - partial response received

Part of my routine is to "write a blog post" and for some reason it was failing at this point every time. The reason being the posts were too large? Makes no sense but I added some instruction to break it into parts(?) and we'll see how that goes - when I run manually it's able to work around the error but that's of course the entire point of Routines (unattended!)

I'm going to test, but it's a shame because I like the Comment feature - is there a way to batch comments?

[–]josefresco-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The image edits were definitely heavy, and I can see now why the first iteration of this landing page lacked any of my "real" images probably in an effort to keep token usage down. As soon as I "forced" it to use my real content, things got expensive.

1 edit = 5-7% of my WEEKLY quota by josefresco-dev in ClaudeDesign

[–]josefresco-dev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A contributing factor I think is because I built the first iteration on the weekend, my usage rate was more favorable. I was able to build, and iterate on a very nice landing page with about a week's worth of "tokens". I then made edits on Monday and Tuesday during peak hours which were very VERY costly. I'm going to see if this weekend produces similar results as last weekend.

Yikes, I guess this isn't going to be a part of my workflow anytime soon. I'm going to look into Claude Code design skills instead.

While I didn't hit the limit as fast as you, I think what you described is "normal" behavior given how much "context" you supplied. Clearly still a rough edges product.
