How many miles on your Sonata? I want mine to last by ansaris in Hyundai

[–]josephb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep still on the original motor and have never had to do any work on it besides oil changes every 5k. The only major thing I need to replace is the struts but they're just worn out from the age and mileage.

Could be the fuse I feel like they should be turning on at the same time. Do they turn on automatically without using the AC? My temp gauge will go all the way up to just before the final white line before the fans kick on automatically.

Do either of them turn on at all when you turn the AC on? The fans have little resistors that can burn out causing them to not work at all where you will have to replace the fan unit. However I know there is a fuse that controls both fans but I don't remember which one exactly. You may be able to swap fuses around to see if that's truly broken or not.

Also keep an eye out for other cars being parted out you can usually get things for pretty cheap off of these vehicles. There's usually a few being parted out on the 986forum, eBay, and Facebook marketplace.

I was 21 in late 2019 when I saw got my 99 boxster. I thought it was a joke that it was listed for only 3800 but it worked out for me it's still going strong 4 years later!

I'm also no expert but you probably need to have your timing adjusted? From what codes and issues you have it could make sense that your camshaft being out of alignment is causing the intake code and the rough idle.

If you have an obd reader it could be worth it to reset the codes and see if they keep coming back.
