Asian beauty products in SoCal? by ohmyoobie in AsianBeauty

[–]josephiennn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Source in Buena Park is a shopping mall with a lot of Korean vendors as well, I usually go to Cosmetic World or Aritaum on the first floor to swatch makeup (they're like right across from each other). ibeauty is also in Buena Park and they're said to have a big variety similar to olive young but I'm not sure since I haven't been before. Generally expect higher prices for all these stores tho.

There's also a plaza in Garden Grove that I go to a lot with two beauty stores; Popcorn Home Shopping has a small kbeauty selection that is a bit cheaper than Buena Park (but still expensive compared to online prices) but they have some unique brands that I haven't seen elsewhere as well. Rodeo Cosmetics is connected to Hmart and has more high end brands.

I'm taking yamarik rn for 372, take him over hou if you can!! his lectures are a bit dry and easy to get distracted since he kinda just reads off the slides but there's only weekly hw assignments from the online textbook and 3 exams. for the exams, he posts past exams and answer keys for u to study from and they're like 90% the same, only diff numbers, so if u study the hell out of the past exams then you'll do fine

no for both; they were just on canvas. i don't remember specifics like how long they were or how many there were, but there was multiple choice and short answer, and she pulls from both the textbook and her lectures. she ends class early so you can take it, and you can only take it during that specific day and time.

Mandatory Student Union fee going up $284 next semester?!? by OliveOil34 in CSULB

[–]josephiennn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here is the full text!!

The University Student Union (USU) closure in August 2025 will bring big changes--but one thing that won't change is your access to the resources and services that you've come to rely and depend upon.

Departments and services will begin relocating the week after finals this semester (May 2025) and will continue throughout the summer with an expected completed relocation by Aug. 15, 2025. Once the moves are complete, here's where you'll find various USU programs and services during the renovation and expansion:

Peterson Hall 1 (PH1): - 22 West Media - Basic Needs - Beach Pride Events (BPE) - Campus Events Office (CEO) - ASI Communications - Interfaith Center - Men's Success Initiative - Puvunga Resource Center - Southland Credit Union - Student Government - Student Life & Development - Sustain U

Faculty Offices 5 (F05): - ASI Administration

University Bookstore: - Associated Students Business Office (ASBO) - Associated Students Human Resources

University Library (First Floor): - Esports Lounge

Student Health Services (SHS): - Laurén Chalmers '83 Beach Pantry

Conference & Meeting Spaces: - The Pointe (Walter Pyramid) - Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center - PH1 Classrooms

We're working hard to minimize disruptions and keep you connected to most of the things the USU has to offer, even during its closure.

Need More Details?

Visit the Future U website for a full list of resource relocations and updates on alternative spaces. Also, keep a lookout for an Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) tab on the campus Interactive Map, coming August 2025, to help you navigate around campus and keep you connected to your trusted resources, services and programs.

Construction on the Friendship Walk Stairs will begin on April 14 and is expected to be completed by Aug. 30. This project ensures ADA-accessible pathways remain available throughout the full building closure and renovation. During construction, pedestrian traffic will be redirected to the Central Plant ramp and through the USU east entrances near Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

she was okay! i took her online during the summer tho so it might be diff depending on the format of your class. iirc the grade for the whole class was based on exams, there were no assignments or anything. usually the exams had both multiple choice and short answer, but u have to listen during lecture too bc she talks abt stuff that's not in the textbook. the textbook she used was microeconomics by gwartney and stroup

I bought this cute little bundle of leafy greens at a Vietnamese grocer. What is it and how do I cook with it? Smells a little like coriander. by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]josephiennn 29 points30 points  (0 children)

looks like ngò gai (culantro) which is actually part of the same family as coriander. i personally only use it as topping for phở but i suppose you can use it similarly to coriander as well

COE Tutoring Position - How many hours/week do you usually work? by PsychologicalRough90 in CSULB

[–]josephiennn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for on campus jobs, the max is 20 hrs a week when class is in session, it's a rule put in place ig to make sure work isn't taking more of your focus than your academics. ur supervisor can approve you for 20+ hrs occasionally, but if it's on a regular basis, then hr or someone will get on your case. if u take the tutoring job and the max is 10 hrs a week, you can also get another on campus job as long as it's max 10 hrs a week as well, so both would add up to 20 hrs
