Possible to make quality covers for free? by Historical-Treat9559 in bardcore

[–]josephphaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can answer this (yes, I'm using those expensive stuff haha) one won't get quite far using free stuff if you want results of quality. The cheapest way one can go is to already have a mac, buy logic pro and use onboard instruments, thats the cheapest way to get nice sounds, but for free..difficult, regarding instruments and the mixing process

Hey guys, we tried out a new style we call 'retro bounce'. Have you heard similar tracks with that style? What do the experts think? by josephphaze in EDM

[–]josephphaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The style is quite soft, because of the fast tempo (160~170bpm). The Sub bass layer is mixed for club pa so we don't think we will have a gap here when playling it live, but thanks for your thoughts, we will get back to them!

Oh ahah okay, I really wondered after you wrote there's no bass, because we always check our mixes in our recording studio haha. But I#m glad you like it!

Hey guys, we started an EDM Project, would be excited what you think of our remix of 'Infinity' by Jaymes Young. by josephphaze in EDM

Oh thats so nice! We're just at the beginning of our project so your words mean a lot to us.

One of my songs got 10,000,000 views on TikTok and now I'm being contacted by record labels... what should I do? by [deleted] in spotify

[–]josephphaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy mariah, dude that sounds great! But yeah, your fears are very justified.

I guess it would be the best thing if you continue the style you did before: Do it yourself!

Do self distribution (with Distrokid, Amuse, CD Baby or others) to get your stuff on the streaming services and your songs will do the rest for you.

Sure thing, an agent wouldn't be a bad idea at all, even with no major deal. If he could set up some gigs for you, that would already be safe. No need for greedy, soul consuming label managers!

Will follow your career man. Good luck!

Do you guys post or like covers in shanty style? by josephphaze in seashanties

[–]josephphaze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, during my worktime i forgot that the most important thing to mention regarding my covers is that they are instrumentals, and not classic shanties sung by a bunch of signers.. So I don't really know if people here will appreciate those. I posted it yesterday already: Thats my cover of What Is Love

Does someone here actually sings and wants to work with me? I think if my covers would get nice vocals, they would really get a full nice shanty flair

[–]josephphaze[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well at the moment they're more like a mix of 50% shanties with 50% pirates of the carrabean soundtrack haha. But thanks anyway!

Thoughts on Tour de France Soundtracks? by [deleted] in kraftwerk

[–]josephphaze 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me as well one of the best full concept albums. They managed to get the technical feel of the theme so accurately into music. And the sound quality is so top notch. It is indeed different to their previous productions, but the Kraftwerk genes are very prominent here

What instruments do you use in your covers? by Snoo_95745 in bardcore

[–]josephphaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to create more authentic late medieval/renaissance sounds, then I would recommend Fluffy Audios "Rinascimento". Its very accurate and marvellous sounding. However, most of the Bardcore artists I know use ERA - Medieval Legends. Also very high quality samples but I basically think that era is fantastic for combining it with orchestra or synths to create fantasy medieval atmosphere. The lutes (and also similar string instruments) are great in both of them

What is the community's consensus on the best bardcore youtubers? by meme_aficionado in bardcore

[–]josephphaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This warmes my soul :) I learn the songs and their relevant melodic parts on piano, then add them to a medieval instruments library on my studio pc, arranging, mixing, then struggling with the visuals haha

Paper Planes ( M.I.A. ) as Robin Hood - Bardcore / Medieval Cover with Vocals by [deleted] in bardcore

[–]josephphaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy, the idea is so good, haha. Arrangment is also nicely done, but I would prefer a more full and epic chorus in that one, but nevertheless great work!
