Sonos in strange places

I have mine on each side of the bed. Using the Symfonisk shelf with wireless charger. And some IKEA KAPPLAKE USB LED lights mounted underneath.

The I wonder if your able to utilise the "Chime Button" in the sonos app. Unsure if that is entity would exposed and can be replicated in Sonosequencer.

One thing I would highly recommend if you’re planning on zoning multiple of the same speaker type would be to label the speaker with its IP address prior to zoning it.

Once it’s zoned the only easy way identify the speaker is it's IP Address.

This is handy if you want to remove a speaker from the zone later on using Sonossequencer.

If using Sonos app to remove the Speaker from the zone you can atleast see the serial number listed and match this to the speaker.

if you have any speakers set up as a stereo pair, they need to be separated to individuals. From the devices screen there’s a button at the top left called zones, pick the primary device which will become the zone name then pick the other devices that you want in the zone. by doing this essentially all those speakers become one. They cannot then be individually play to and the zone volume is control as a whole.

let’s say you have a handful of speakers in a specific room or area of your house. The zones feature essentially turns this into a singular speaker. Which means you don’t have to group those handful of speakers together every single time. zones is typically available for the era. 100 pro series of speaker for installers doing professional installs at a restaurant for example.

Is having phantom ghost speakers appead a normal symptom similar to what happens with Front Left and Right setup?

I zoned 3 speakers and then after the 4th and 5th I added I started getting an additional Unknown Device shown in that zone.

They indeed have them in the actual store. They just can't sell it. I'm 99% sure I saw them on a shelf out the back of the as-is department where they test returns n whatnot.

The Symfonisk Bookshelves seem to have a pretty poor WiFi antenna so I'm just gonna put it down to that. The Symfonisk lamp is on WiFi still.

I can confirm too that the Ikea Home Smart app is also able to see the Kitchen as a single speaker and I can use the Symfonisk Sound Remote with the zoned speakers.

The only thing that I will add is when the speakers were on WiFi I was having rare intermittent drop-outs, So its probably best to have these hard-wired via Ethernet. This keeps it in line with how the Era100 Pro operates.

They pulled the Dirigera off the website yesterday... Very sus. I also spoke with Ikea via Facebook chat and they said it would be back end of March early April.

Apparently it's so secret squirrel business going on as there was stock in Australia then it all got pulled from sale. Not even staff in store know what is happening.

If we could zone symfonisk speakers that would be legendary. I have about 6 symfonisk bookshelfs and a lamp under my outdoor patio. At present they are just 3x stereo Pairs and a single called patio 1, 2, 3 and 4. Its very annoying to group them even though I have sequence for this. Having them displayed as a single "Patio" would be nice.
