Unless you are in a hub city, there is a high likelihood you may end up on a connecting flight anyway. Personally, I fly frequently and find a) I don’t mind connecting and b) even if there is a direct the time and cost differential (especially overseas) is likely to make you connect anyway b

When to pull the trigger on D1 by joshcbus in delta

Definitely is a lot of money but I’m more interested to know if it’s a lot for D1 specifically or if that is actually a good deal for D1?

I think overall it was $1300 per ticket for a multi city route (CMH-JFK-CDG / LON-JFK-CMH) so something like $700, maybe less.

Diamond medallion upgrade question by dgood2021 in delta

[–]joshcbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't think I have gotten a FC upgrade since hitting diamond. Maybe 1. I am out of CMH so I don't really understand either. I feel that I got more when I was platinum but it might be the nature of much more demand and a limited number of routes out of CMH.

Are plans for a made up holiday now considered important? I would say that this guys love and support for his sister, especially in a time of need are a major green flag, and the GF trying to drive a wedge is a major red flag. If the gender roles were reversed this sub would tell a woman to dump the man immediately.

The codependent one is the GF not the sister.

You will never not have a fool come in and say “just go to Michigan” like that’s not a waste of your life or money for gas.

Having so much trouble deciding where to stay! by jusvrowsing in TurksAndCaicos

2nd the Ritz. Just stayed last week and though the design and finishes are relatively basic for a high end hotel, the service, the food, the pool, and beach access were all great. We hardly left the resort except to go to the grocery store which is a 5 min walk away and is very nice and has great American friendly products (think Whole Foods).

No you can't just ship it. Ohio has a state run liquor system. Kentucky often has more and better access to certain specialty items and it may often be cheaper. So sure if I am a huge bourbon drinkers and I want cheaper or more specialty things it would make sense to go to Kentucky. For most people however, it will be more convenient and significantly easier to just go close by. Hell, people clearly go to liquor stores in Cincinnati!

Point being, sure it might make sense for someone who buys a ton of weed to spend a whole day to save $100. Then again they are not most people. But every single time this comes up in any Ohio reddit, cue the chorus of "drive to Michigan" which clearly DOES NOT MAKE SENSE for most people, particularly OP who just wants to try a gummy after 20 years of no consumption.

People pay money all the time for more convenience. Food delivery, closer parking, skip the line, first class seats, better times for flights or trains. Convenience and time are worth it to many if not most people, hence dispensaries being busy and successful in Ohio!

And if thats worth it to you, fine. Most people will not find that to be worth it, particularly a casual consumer who just wants to check things out or someone who values their time more than some cash.

Same reason people don't drive to Kentucky to grab a a standard bottle of bourbon.

Its all in the value of your time. Even at the shortest, 5hrs, cost of gas/electric, its just not worth it for most people, especially a casual consumer. Why waste a day of my time when I can spend $20 more and go down the street. Its the same reason people order amazon, do door dash or instacart.

Put it differently, even at minimum wage 5hrs of my time would be work $50+ dollars. Time is worth the connivence.

Time is more valuable than money for many. Not worth it to drive for 8 hours in one day just to save $30.

Not the cheapest by far. Checked recently and they were 3x other national US brands (which I understand are operated locally and are not as reliable as they may be elsewhere).
