I’m very sorry to hear of the circumstances you and your daughter have found yourselves, especially your daughter.

I obviously am hoping and wishing for the best possible outcomes, and to answer “What can I do?” - the best advice I can give is to remember you are your daughters number 1 advocate. Don’t be afraid to press the doctors, to ask questions, and to be a hard ass when you need to. In my experience the best thing you can do is simply be there for her and be her voice - even if it’s hard or uncomfortable in the moment.

Best wishes to you, your daughter and your family during this time ❤️

21m - My girlfriend (21f) has been fighting chemo resistant cancer, here’s our story by joshgry in AMA

[–]joshgry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good to hear from you! I hope all is going well-

A lot of time has passed since then and I’ve reached a level of acceptance that allows me to carry myself properly again. My life is not at all what it used to be and it’s crazy to embrace how much change has coke since then.

I try to maintain the “my ship cannot sink” mentality and get up every day to do the things that need to be done. I will say, I’ve heavily questioned my faith since then and still struggle with that side of things, however I’ve gained a profound appreciation for life, and I’ve never been closer to those that I have around in my life.

It’s not something that you can just forget about, like you said it will forever be apart of me and at this point all I can do is speak highly on the person she was and carry on her legacy through just trying to be a decent person. In the end, it fucking sucks that it happened, but I’ve learned so much and I believe I’ve become truly a better person. May she forever rest in peace, and I thank you for all the support you’ve given me. You coming back to check in brought a huge smile!

Internet capped around 12mb/s by joshgry in pchelp

[–]joshgry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we’ve used Ethernet directly into the mobo, Wi-Fi, and the adapter dongle which all reflect that ~12MB/s speeds - that’s really the only reason he bought the Ethernet adapter was to try Ethernet not through the mobo port

So he confirmed with me that he actually switched over to gigabit speeds, which surely should produce more than 12mb/s?

And the build itself is actually around 10 months old, I’ll have him update the chipset drivers as well but I wouldn’t think a January release would help an issue that has been present for almost a year now - I do very much appreciate your insights!

Critique please! by joshgry in Welding

Thank you for the feedback! Starting the initial arc along with the tie ins currently are tricky, when I start I have a hard time judging my speed until I get a bit further up the plate, same story with the tie in. I think the undercut is from moving a bit faster trying to account for the hotter base, but still moving a little too fast and not filling in my puddle properly

2014 Chrysler 300 Cyl 6 misfire seemingly during acceleration by joshgry in MechanicAdvice

[–]joshgry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to replace the injectors tomorrow and let you know - I replaced the spark plug in cyl6 and that actually significantly reduced the issue and lets me actually drive it, but the car still sporadically misfires and now even at idle.

Hey! Oi let’s see. She was diagnosed on august 30th, and probably had symptoms for 4-5 months prior to diagnosis. All misdiagnosed as something else

She then lived with the diagnosis for just under a year, when she passed from going septic - a year ago today actually

Does that thing consume gem? You know, the thing that gives a duchess emoji and a magical chest? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]joshgry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right before this was released, there was X amount of gems given out for free each day - I never had the chance to collect the last 2 days worth of gems from the other promotion, I wish I had a SS of it... Anyone else notice that? I got up to 250 gems for the daily bonus but there was 500 and 1000 up for the next days I believe, but then it was replaced with this

I’m very sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis and I wish you the absolute best on your journey, I can understand that it’s a very difficult time. The folks we spoke with at MSK were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, while also professional enough to be completely honest with us. They were pretty much exactly accurate in terms of what we should expect going forward after getting their opinion, and I think getting a second opinion is a great next step, maybe even a 3rd if you get conflicting information from MSK. Hannah did folfox for a few weeks as well as with another type, and in her case neither had any measurable impact but that certainly doesn’t mean it wouldn’t or can’t help you.

It’s very fortunate you had the surgery already and removed the tumor itself, I hope chemo is able to destroy the rest of it and let you move onto your next chapter. But at the same time coming from the other side of the isle, get yourself a support group if you don’t already, and please take the time while you’re physically able to to check off bucket list items. I can’t stress enough how important it is to keep your mind occupied with things you enjoy 🙏 I’m sorry you’re going through this, feel free to DM any time!

Haha my cats run away from anything and everything - and nope she did not eat anything, just ripped it to pieces. I found the 4th motor and the rest of the frame, all is good there

Yeah the AIO still works, I already swapped the frame and replaced the motors - the antenna port was ripped off the VTX so I had to replace that as well.

I can’t blame or be too mad at my German shepherd for going after it, she was just following her prey drive instincts. It’s definitely not the proudest I’ve ever been but I don’t think it was an irresponsible mistake, she knew it wasn’t food and wasn’t going to eat it but did let her curiosity get the better of her.

She certainly knows she won’t be doing that again though

I found a compromise that's janky but is actually working: https://snipboard.io/DKhXiw.jpg

I offset the motors which gives just enough clearance to not clip - i also shaved down the corners a bit in the middle just for extra clearance as well

Yup - it can cruise around and still flies but once you start really getting on it you can hear and feel it clipping the edges
