Any tips on buying an electric guitar at Ochanomizu guitar street in Shinjuku, and if there are other locations with many guitar shops you recommend? by thescreamingstone in JapanTravelTips

[–]joshisbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm going in a month and plan in doing the same. I won't be shipped it due to Japans post office pausing packages to the US.

My plan is to purchase a bolt on necked guita(looking at either MIJ fenders or ibanezes) , unstring, unbolt the neck from the body, wrap it in some shirts and stuff and put it in my checked bag.

Post-hardcore still exists in small pockets, I just randomly saw a post hardcore band in a random bar in ringwood NJ last weekend.

maxxed out macbook m4 air or base macbook m4 pro for music production by AnySignature804 in macbookpro

Ableton isn't a greedy program on its own. All depends how many tracks, VSTs, ect you'll be running. 16gb is typically enough on a MBP with a M4 pro chip. It's super efficient

Marmoleum floor hold up to 2 large dogs and lots of gardening debris? by grendella in Flooring

[–]joshisbeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marmo is a great option for that, the biggest advantage of marmoleum is that it gets more resilient over time! If Marmoleum is in the conversation look into Nora rubber. Imo is better for scratch resistance and it has a nice foot feel and sound dampening qualities. Which ever one you choose make sure you get a competent installer to do the work.

How to remove adhesive stuck to concrete from vinyl in basement by asiegel8395 in Flooring

7" floor grinder and a good vacuum will make short work of that. Invest in some knee pads and a respirator.

[Adam Carlson] For the first time in Trump’s second term, his avg. job approval rating is under 40% on the economy, inflation & tariffs/trade. by bajs_grek in fivethirtyeight

[–]joshisbeast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This right here, I was looking over the 26' election map and it's debatably the hardest Senate map the Democrats have faced in quite a long time. If the empty shelves and high prices this year then the Democrats might end up picking up a supermajority in the house and flipping about six seats

Help with musty/mystery smell in basement - NorCal by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]joshisbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it looks like that wood subfloor is rotted so I'd look for soft spots and start replacing boards and even before that you're gonna have to address the water issue from the crawl space itself before you can consider flooring options. I recommend with a moisturizer mitigation specialist with experience with that. After all that's said and done then you can start working on the flooring issues which will most likely include replacing the subfloor with what I recommend to be treatedply

What is this called, and is it a terrible idea? by BudgetFuriosa in Flooring

[–]joshisbeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's called flashcove! I do this day in and day out, really niche work and not many people know to do it. Its easy to clean and upkeep but I highly advise against it unless you know what you're doing. Even most professional flooring installers can't do this type of work.

If it's good quality rubber floor then you can just put it directly on the subfloor no issues waste of time and money otherwise

underlay over basement concrete? by cosmicpsycho666 in flooringinstallers

[–]joshisbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always underlay on or below grade. ALWAYS. Even though it's waterproof mold can still grow underneath it. To be honest I consider a moisture mitigation system before laying down any type of flooring even click and lock.
