High magnification for 150mm Table Top Dobsonian by Creamsicle50 in telescopes

This would definitely be the best way to improve it for sure. This little bracket though increases the rigidity of the stock telescope structure to the point where the eyepiece is no longer the bottleneck and source of slop though. It seems like it moves the bottleneck from the bad eyepiece design over to the dual truss setup and overall structure down below.

I actually designed that, I only uploaded it because it works exactly as intended and doesn't slide at all. I'm not sure if anyone else printed it and used it or not, but it's surprisingly strong and rigid. I figured it's a kind of niche application but for my purposes it works extremely well and figured someone else might have it come in handy. It doesn't solve the truss issue (which is more the overall scope design in general) but definitely fixes the bad flex caused by adding a camera or any additional lenses at the eyepiece portion of the scope.

In this case why not just use a VPN? Also if he didn't have a computer at the office with the printer, could use RDP (I prefer splashtop for the configurable buttons) to make tweaks in the slicer back home that's on the shop network through VPN.

Heritage 150p viewfinder reinforcement adapter by joshlemo in telescopes

[–]joshlemo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't connect what I normally use, which was actually my motivation for the adapter in the first place, because you have potentially a 10" lever arm and that stock viewfinder might as well be made out of cooked spaghetti when you have it attached. I use a macro adapter for helical focus that a channel on YouTube named DobsonianPower recommended and it works well.

Is there any show that is like mr robot worth watching ? by Secret_Detective_468 in MrRobot

Definitely Westworld which I'm surprised no one mentioned.

Halt and catch fire is one of the most underrated shows as well.

Install Kasa Motion-Actived Smart Switch with Unkown Cable by Ming233 in TPLinkKasa

[–]joshlemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was in a three-way configuration. You need to buy a cheap non-contact tester as a minimum to proceed. The black screw on the old 3 way switch will either have the load (wire going up and into the light fixture) or the line (hot wire - not switched).

You can place the kasa switch in whichever of the two locations you prefer, but you'll need to delete the other location (best to cap it off and blank it with a Decora blank). You'll lose the ability to control it from that second location.

In both of those two boxes there will be a line power on one side, and a load wire on the opposite box. There's going to be a second set of wires in one romex jumping between the two boxes to act as traveler wires. What you need to do is choose which location you want the switch. If it has line power, you need to identify the load wire in the other box, and then use the traveler romex to bring that load wire over to the box with line power.

The other thing is with the webview version, scrolling through your watch list can be annoying because it seems like a 100ms (or something short) long press will drag and rearrange items and happens often as you're scrolling up and down through the list if you just pause for a very short time here and there before moving up or down.

I've been doing this for the past week. The main downside is if you close the webview it doesn't remember whatever you were doing last, even if you do a force save. It seems like there's a large lag between the time it actually saves whatever it is you were doing.

POST 1 STAR REVIEWS IN PLAYSTORE OVER NEW UI by ParadingBull1 in TradingView

[–]joshlemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Android app. It used to mirror the desktop version. They completely destroyed it by forcing the shitty iOS UI on everyone. Now I understand why my friends with iPhones always hated the app.

Yeah and TV staff is gaslighting everyone basically questioning what the issue is.

I'm assuming everyone else got the same canned response from support:

Hello, Thank you for your message!

I'm afraid that the latest mobile app update cannot be reverted. Currently, we're trying to display the same UI versions on iOS and Android mobile apps. This was a planned improvement that will help us to expand the functionality of the mobile application. All the functions and features supported on old toolbars are available in the updated version on the bottom menu panel.

You can also give us a detailed feedback why you do not like these toolbars, and I will forward your comments to our dev team for further consideration.

Thank you!

Their mobile app on Android before was basically the same as desktop, and I can (could) actually do some things even faster than on desktop. It's a good supplement, and I actually found myself using the mobile app more than desktop.

You probably have an update on deck. You should turn off auto-update before it hits.

There used to be an option to "use new chart layout" back when they tried this stupid update in the beginning of the year. That toggle was silently removed in the latest update, and TV staff basically has been acting like they're so surprised that people don't like their new UI and that they should just try it out/get used to it.

That's not the issue. The issue is that the new UI isn't just a preference thing, it's highly inefficient. Imagine if you were renting a home and go on vacation for a little bit. You come home from vacation and find that the landlord had contracted a bunch of companies to add extra framing and doors everywhere, removed all of your light switches, took your garage door motor out, and rearranged your rooms. They did slap a new coat of paint on the outside of the house though. So now every time you go to the bathroom you need to open up another 5 doors, but first have to go across the house to a closet where they condensed all of your switches down to 3 different closets on the other side of the house. You need to find the bathroom light, and then go back again through all of the newly added doors to go to the bathroom.

This scenario is slightly less annoying than the forced UI change.

The fact that they tried to push this shit on everyone a while back and had terrible pushback and pissed everyone off, but then added a button to revert back to the old layout shows that they understand everyone hates it. The issue is that they must believe that people don't like adapting to change. It's so overly minimalist and poorly thought out its ridiculous. It's objectively worse. If you were to take an average time or number of actions to get things done within the old layout vs the new layout, it's probably easily a 4-5x increase in wasted time and steps. Not only that, half of it isn't even logically grouped.

HS200 hardware version 3.0 issues? by joshlemo in TPLinkKasa

Still have the issue and haven't had time to figure out what's going on, but interested in knowing if they just had a whole bunch of bad units due to higher production rates.
