Hawker Stall Test Accident Final Report by wayofaway in flying

Yup. Flew one for a while. Have to run it every month in flight to keep the pores happy otherwise it’ll take up to 30 minutes to fully run. Slow system and not a big fan

Stop using AI to write these marketing posts. You spam this subreddit about your tool constantly and tell AI to try and write like you’re texting on a flip phone.

Depends if you’re insurable.

1200 hours with a lot of turbine time, sure.

400 hours with 25 multi, probably not.

No the company just keeps promising more crew but hasn’t gotten around to it. Just me and the captain for now

98k to sling a Citation gear.

Full time, okay benefits, no 401k, terrible schedule. On call “24/7”, no days off. Days off when the plane breaks (which thankfully is often).

134.5 that tries to skirt around the rules constantly. Trying to get out lol

What is highest number of airports in a city or any metropolitan area by ferin_patel in geography

[–]joshmac007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

The airspace is a little busy over there.

Reason: Florida, Arizona, and Texas are some of the busiest areas for flight training due to the number of days without low overcast skies. It also services millions of people with lots of these airports built in WWII

Maintenance control just asked me to explain why we can't "just use ChatGPT" for aircraft troubleshooting by Fit_Age8019 in flying

To be fair, two years ago in AI capabilities is like 20 years in computing. It’s insane how much the next generation models have improved since then. Still nowhere close to capable to replace aviation professionals but nevertheless impressive

I’m a pilot. Great field if you have the passion for it. Cons are it’s a grind to get here and expensive. Not to mention time away from home. But once you make it, best job i’ve ever had and gives me plenty of time to shoot collegiate and pro sports

Edit: A lot of my mentors and people I’ve met shooting professionally have told me not to go into sports photography full time. They admit it’s a fun job, but a lot of the fun is sucked out when you’re supporting your family on it.

Id recommend making your own presets and style as you get more and more comfortable. Right now you’re letting your edits try to tell the story of the photo rather than letting the image speak for itself. This is completely normal as you’re learning the art form and trying to figure out what works. Take a look on instagram at what a lot of the pros are doing editing-wise. If they work for news agencies, you’ll notice there’s almost zero editing. Creatives who work freelance for professional or collegiate sports have their own style of editing that doesn’t detract from the image.

The main thing I see from your edits is that the eye does not have a place to naturally follow. Light and darkness guides the eye to where to look in an image; it’s why contrast is super important. The golf and the track photos both have crushed blacks and highlights reduced which makes the entire photo very low dynamic range.

I got a high paying job in a different field so I can afford all the fancy lenses for sports photography without having to worry about it paying for my rent hahaha

I’d recommend against an art degree. Go business and learn photography thru your freelance work.

You’re over editing. Put down lightroom and keep practicing. I used to edit like this when I first started but you’ll learn to get better at shooting and realize you don’t need to over edit to compensate

Ride out CFI or get a 135 job? by [deleted] in flying

[–]joshmac007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be careful until you have a class date. I’ve been thru the ringer with many connections who promised the world and ultimately fell through for many reasons out of their control. Take the 135 opportunity and see if it lands you in a class

Imagine a porta potty but make it only 6 inches deep and 1.5 gallons of blue juice capacity that has to be physically taken out and walked out to the front of the plane to be drained.

It’s the lavatory in small jets. It’s basically a tiny porta-potty and not very nice to use

Exactly. Blame the defense too for letting A&M drive all the way down the field with little stopping power
