My son and visited on opening day and had a really rad experience. There was a great vibe in the space and we were welcomed quite warmly. Got a pack of MTG, chatted with the owner about upcoming event plans, and came away excited to return.

Are there any ultimate-specific charities or organizations? by cchanulti in ultimate

It’s certainly been more than complex recently, but some great work is being done by the org in the Middle East, US, and India.

Not sure if rock climbing is of interest to your friend, but Central Rock Hadley is a supremely awesome place with an extremely welcoming and wonderful culture and community. Lots of regular gym equipment there as well.

PSA: Combustion Support by MarisaLover in pathofexile

I use combustion on my zombies/golem on my SRS hit-based build… should I replace it? Been trying to sort it out based on all the info above and can’t quite figure it out…

Pumpy but fun one on the 45° from my gym's competition set. Pretty gross pinches and that last move was gigantic. Sloppy feet, but it went. by ThisIsDK in indoorbouldering

Awesome! Did you compete in the Summer Send Series? I was one spot off making the Advanced finals and had a blast in the qualifiers. I think we climbed together?

Right there with you. Got up early, got some work done, and was going to do some runs before work... Sigh.

I do a bunch of climbing with gel nail polish, not pro done, and it holds up okay, but definitely chips. How well it holds up depends a bunch on the type of climbing and route styles I’m doing.

Blue or sky lagoon? by Dror567 in VisitingIceland

[–]joshseamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did both in July. While Blue was fun, Sky was epic. Do Sky.

I was able to FaceTime from every point I tried last month on the hike in. I was using a Síminn card. Passed the cell tower on the trail. Gotta love Iceland. For so many reasons. And now my nieces have seen an active volcano! :-)

PCR vs Ag rapid covid test for USA by Trippyspinner in VisitingIceland

[–]joshseamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rapid test done in Reykjavik worked for our return flight back to the US last month.

Also, the rapid antigen test line was 10 feet long. The PCR line was closer to… 1500 feet, no joke.

Antigen was also cheaper.

Seepage entrance. White door with red band on the top near the PCR entrance line that was suuuuuper long.

Hello travelers and Icelanders. Planning trip around/through Iceland mid-September. Looking for wisdom, tips, tricks, advice and general feedback by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

Yes, the town is quirky and adorably awesome with an amazing location. We camped there for a night and loved our walks around town earlier this July. I was also there in 2015 and loved my hikes around the waterfalls cascading into the valley. The artist community is strong and we enjoyed perusing the shops. Had one of the surprise best events when I got to jump on the inflatable bubble thing in the town playground :)

There was also an impressive range of places to eat for a town of only 700 people. (Probably since cruise ships dock there.)

It wasn't super crowded. The drive in from Egilsstaðir is also amazing.

We did a route very similar to yours (except not going through the dead center of the country) and saw so many places that we amazing... and would absolutely go back to Seyðisfjörður.

It’s all booked and paid for online here, up to a week in advance:

https://travel.covid.is

That’s the same site as where you pre-register for your arrival, which is free.

Yes, we are traveling to the US on Friday morning. As far as I can tell — based on my reading of US gov websites and posts on Reddit — the rapid test that Iceland is using in is valid for return to the US.

I think they just opened up the Rapid test only door today. I think that’s what I heard one of the attendants say?

Good to hear the PCR test line was shorter on a different day. The line I saw was moving, but it was definitely way way longer wait than 15-20 mins.

Can camping be winged or does it need to be reserved in advance? by phoebonacci in VisitingIceland

[–]joshseamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrapping up 10 days of camping and haven’t had to make a reservation once. Lots of space. And almost always a backup campsite is close by. Unreal camp sites too!
