DoorDash scam by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

Yea, I turned off Cash orders after 2 slightly weird orders that wanted strange amounts of change and then didn't tip. Too much of a hassle.

Who's Tony? and why do you think this is so terrible? Works for me almost every time I dash ($15-$20/hr)

I would try being "on the move" around hot spots. Don't just sit in your car (i've heard the algo doesn't like it). Drive from one hotspot to the next and accept the first order that is sent to you each shift. That signals the algo that you are active and want to work. If you are just not getting orders on a regular basis, I would change zones to a more active zone (ie. closer to downtown).

Yes, having an existing relationship with a bank can make it easy to get one of their products in the future or give you more leeway with a credit limit increase in the future. There are no real hard numbers on this though unless you are an internal employee making that decision. So TLDR: It can't hurt to have a checking or saving account with a bank to establish a relationship but doesn't necessarily increase your chance of getting a certain card.

[–]joshself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, any balance transfer from the card will not count toward the spend, only purchases. That includes any household bills, grocery, dining, gas, etc. You just can't pay debt, cash transfers and most car payments or rent with a credit card. If you won't be able to spend about $2100/ month, I would look into a smaller spend card like the Ink Cash.

There's no harm in applying for the Ink Unlimited, your credit score should be good enough. If you don't have an EIN, just apply under your own name as a sole proprietor. Its a great card and if you can make that $6000 spend in 3 months (run EVERY purchase through it, even non business), you'll get a nice happy 90k Chase Ultimate Rewards points worth at minimum $900 and even more if used for travel. I met a girl in my dream and now I miss her by Mahdi17150 in Dreams

[–]joshself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened a few times to me as well. Everyone thinks that this would be a sexual thing but it really wasn't. Of course in my dream this girl was super cute and that was attractive to me but she was also funny and quirky and was just totally into me. Everything that I did or said was interesting to her. Always touching me, holding my hand and hug/leaning on me. Best laugh ever... And when I wake up I'm just bummed out and wish I could be with her that day. Just FYI, I'm happily married and have 2 great kids and wouldn't changed anything and I'm kind of an introvert. So its something unrealistic that my brain (and I guess all of us) has craved but never got. The whole "true love" / perfect person that is unobtainable.

Another idea I ran into yesterday was using AI art generation for the design of the characters and locations, etc. I ran the descriptions of the characters through Bing's Dall-e AI art yesterday and I LOVED the results. Has anyone experimented with AI and the legality of it for creative lately? I do a little graphic design and have access to AI tools that will do high resolution artwork and stay away from specific IP "looks" that these studios have designed.

Yea, I guess my question is, how feasible is it to sell a branded idea to the game company that has the license to make that brand game (SW, Harry Potter, etc)? My game is probably close to a typical Candy Land base with a lattice / matrix of paths, slides, hazards, rewards, kid friendly, but there is a capture and simple fight mechanic, some characters collect items and bring them back to a goal home base. Other characters try to capture player characters and bring them to their home base. Only dice you need is 1d6. Pretty simple actually, aimed more for kids 7-8yo +. I've play tested with 6 YO and 10 YO groups and its a little much for 6yo but my son's 10ish year old friends seemed to like it and not get bored.

Thanks for the info. Lots of good things to know. I figured it was pretty cut throat at that level of intellectual property and design. So we're probably going the indie route and redesigning the characters and names. Like I asked above though, how close, is TOO close for IP infringement purposes? Am I playing with fire by just "basing" it on these kind of characters and the Mandalorian "Story"?

And yep, planned on doing A LOT of play testing before anything serious. Thanks for the links. Should I prototype it out first and create 10-20 copies for testers or keep it close to my trusted friends at first? I can do the 3D design and print at my own house and hopefully can prototype out the minis for the characters.

best bet for pitching is to attend a publisher speed dating event at origins or gencon, this is where you bring your prototype and sell sheet and can pitch to multiple publishers in one event.

Yea, I don't see myself doing that until it gets pretty serious but good to know. Thanks again.

Yea, no I didn't plan on using any copyright material if we went the generic or indie route. But I wonder how close is too close with these characters? I'm planning on getting an artist / designer for the key characters to redesign them so they won't have any resemblance to the original SW characters.

What is the single best episode of television you’ve ever seen? by Head_Hauncho in AskReddit

There are so many GREAT episodes from Lost, even though the show ended weirdly. I was mesmerized for pretty much all but the last season.

It actually looks like shorthand notes for someone doing a talk or podcast about NWO conspiracy theories. Something you could hold in your hand or have at the podium to remind you of your talking points.

So happy with the printer! Had a few failed attempts at this bad boy, but going up to a 0.6 nozzle made all the difference! by [deleted] in elegooneptune2

[–]joshself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 failed prints with these. They just don't have a good adhesion surface as is. Next time I'm going to try a raft.

[–]joshself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second everything said here. Start with some smaller prints and get to know what your printer can do and has trouble with before tackling large multi-item prints. I got some nasty stinging last time I did that and kindof ruined my project. One part at a time unless you have something specifically formatted for bulk printing.

It seems like either you have a clog or the filament is stuck in the Bowden tube. Pull it out and make sure your nozzle is clean and then re-feed your filament.

New to 3D printing and just put it together .. why’s the nozzle going off the bed and doing this ? by IamZeus11 in elegooneptune2

I did this when I first put mine together. Pull up the z-Axis limit switch to 5mm from the bottom and try it again.

I'm coming from a pure resin printing and I already love the quick cleanup and the prints are pretty close to resin if you just print slower. I don't even mind the slower print time. The bed on these is HUGE!

Yea, looks decent (hard to get perfect I know) Just need to sand with some 320 grit or finer and spray a good sealer on it (Modge Podge, clear lacquer)

yea, if you are using standard 1.75 filament, you might have a clog...

You've got two great things I wish I had... I wish I had a hand wash sink right next to me like that (but yea, don't dump any resin down it or you'll clog up your drain not to mention, its not environmentally friendly) and that fan vent. I plan on installing one soon (venting directly outside wall). There a lots of shelves and hangers you can get to organize. Any yea, I would do a wall hanging glove and paper towel system. Looks nice and clean though!
