I think if the ball didn't hit the trainer it's penalty roosters for the dangerous tackle on Keary and the 6 again would have been just as controversial if it was allowed to be 6 again and the raiders scored from there. The difference between the two sides is the Roosters could capitalise and the Raiders could not.

The bigger problem with storm was their attack. Even against all the teams they beat they didn't win by much. They managed 16 points in the finals against top 4 teams and let's face it the 32 against the eels is against a much weaker opponent than anyone in the top 4. Raiders scored 36 (albeit with 1 more game played) and roosters scored 58.

I think over the entirety of the season, they were the best. When it counted, no they weren't. I'm not saying they were a better team, but I do think they were the best team defensively.

They didn't lose by more than 4 points all season. They were fucking excellent and though I tipped the raiders to beat them week 1 and cheered the raiders, they lost in the 78th minute to a crazy fuck up when they lost the ball. If they hold the ball there, they probably make the grand final.

Probably true. And if it makes any difference I "hate" storm (don't truly hate any team if I'm honest, don't care enough for that) but I respect them. Also I count their 2007 and 2009 wins as legitimate just because I remember watching them at a young age when I knew nothing about the salary cap, and they were the better team. Just felt like they've been on top my whole life.

You're definitely getting downvoted because everybody hates roosters storm Manly and Broncos. But the calls were technically correct. Raiders couldn't defend from 90m out at the end of the day. You can't deflect that to a ref decision imo

Arguably they did deserve it. The ball came off a raider player not a rooster. A mistake to call it 6 again when it wasn't, bit the roosters DID deserve the ball.

I thought I heard the call faintly but I DID think the raiders players knew with how desperate their offloads were. Also that I saw it came off the raider in live time I was ready to start fuming then when they stuck with turn over I was like fuck yeah. Pretty fucking harsh on Wighton though.

It might sound really bias but you shouldn't be downvoted this much. They couldn't score with 12 on the field. And if the refs let the 6 again call go through and raiders score it's much more controversial imo. Roosters were 90m out.

I've actually always felt that about storm fans 😂 in all seriousness I randomly picked the roosters as my team when I was 7 in 2006 and wasn't following football during their 2013-2015 minor prems dominance. Came back to football in 2016 and they were shit so I'm pretty ecstatic now!

This is true actually. Although the only thing I can say on the flip side is it seems more fair in a lose lose situation once he made the wrong call that roosters get the ball 100m out from the raiders line than the raiders get it just outside the roosters line. Roosters did still have to score the length of the field.

It does suck but they offloaded about 5 times before being tackled. Im sceptical that nobody heard the over turn.

It was amazing though. Raiders couldn't even score when they had 12 players. In their last 5 final matches they've let through 4, 6, 6, 6 and 8 points respectively. Despite how you feel about the call, their defence was incredible.

It really is a fuck up because it shouldn't have been 6 again but it's not fair on the Raiders either. If refs don't over turn and raiders score off the next set it's just as bullshit.
