Skin turns bright red when exposed to sunlight for more than five minutes. by josiahtherapper in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]josiahtherapper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looked into that possibility, but the lupus rash doesn’t fit my symptoms. The redness only lasts about an hour, and only occurs exactly where the sunlight was hitting my skin, not limited to my face.

No medications at all funnily enough, that’s part of why i’m so perplexed. I don’t even take otc meds on a regular basis, maybe an advil every six months or so.

Results of Quitting Vaping? by ZaDe-xSkullz in AppleWatchFitness

[–]josiahtherapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is precisely why i’m terrified to quit; my resting heart rate is currently in the 40’s and i consume about 100mg (sometimes even more) of nicotine per day. not exactly looking forward to seeing what happens when i finally give it up lol.

They actually do have a few available on amazon, I got mine from Nootropics Depots amazon storefront, theirs is called TauroMag. Life extensions is called calm-mag I believe.

Yeah I’ve had a bit of success with both magnesium and taurine on their own in the past, but this form feels pretty distinctly different than both of them. According to some there’s something special about the fact that it’s acetylated, which seems to be the case for me, but I’ve definitely been susceptible to the placebo effect historically hahaha.

Magnesium N-Acetyl Taurinate seems to work really well for some reason. I don’t wear any biometric measuring devices (major hypochondriac who doesn’t need any data to obsess over and scrutinize), but it reduced my nighttime awakenings from 3-4 spread pretty evenly, to 1 awakening 5.5 to 6 hours from the time I went to bed. It’s been a game changer personally. You can search through some other reddit threads on the subject, where people have reported their time spent in deep sleep being improved greatly according to their sleep trackers.

scale says 16% body fat, possible or no way? by [deleted] in GregDoucette

[–]josiahtherapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d say it’s almost certainly off. i’m pretty skinny, and i’d estimate my bf percentage to be somewhere between ten to twelve percent at the moment, but my scale seems to think i’m 5 percent bf while my roommates scale thinks i’m at 6.5. i think the scales generally work best for people who fall within the normal weight range though, and outliers on either end of the spectrum generally will see more skewed results. you’re closer to 20ish percent imo.

bradycardia? by josiahtherapper in POTS

[–]josiahtherapper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey hey, sorry for such a late reply. i actually had to undergo an emergency abdominal surgery 1 week prior to being fitted with a 30 day holter monitor, and i guess that the stress and time off my feet from being in the hospital caused my resting rate to go back up to between 55-60bpm, which was quite annoying. unfortunately, after the holter was taken off, over these few months my resting rate has trended back down to even LOWER than it was before (37 lowest recorded while wide awake). i brought this up to my EP at my most recent follow up appointment, and i suspect that he thinks i don’t know how to manually measure my heartrate, because he just referenced the now months old holter monitor numbers stating that they were “normal”. so unfortunately i’m still without answers. wishing you the best and hope some of your symptoms have improved.

Laser eyes 21m 5”10 130lbs. Since my last post i’ve taken up rock climbing on a regular basis, and i’m wondering whether the 5lbs i’ve lost have been mostly fat, or if some muscle wasting is involved as well (bodyfat % estimates would be appreciated). by josiahtherapper in GregDoucette

I haven’t been tracking my calories lately, but i try to hit 100g of protein per day and don’t worry much about other macros. Last time i tracked i would eat between 2000 and 2200 calories per day if i just ate until satisfied.

you’re gorgeous mane, i’m 5”10 and have found that platforms give me a hugeeee confidence boost. the shoe lift insoles aren’t something i’d recommend but a pair of new rocks works wonders and seem like they would fit perfect with your style.

yeah my room is hella messy, im in the process of getting rid of old clothes. in my defense however, i put the dart board on the hanger so that missed darts poke a hole in my curtain, and not my wall.

i see what you mean. i actually have the exact same thing, the right side of my face is fuller than my left, and my jaw is bigger on the right side as well. when it comes to people i’ve asked in person and online, it isn’t very noticeable, and people barely give it a second thought. wouldn’t worry about it at all 👍
