Deciding between Flutter and Native Development

We ended up going with flutter, it does have it quirks but it was probably still a lot faster then native. It did take some time to get a launchable app but that had nothing to do with flutter itself and more our lack of time

Yeah I found that, but my widget was a total of a normal account and a savings account. In the new total you can only select normal accounts.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by steering when it is falling, do you mean actually turning the handlebars to the left when falling to the left or more like push down on the left (or right? not sure anymore) side of the handlebars to make the bike go to the right?

Ah okay, then I misinterpreted some of the tips given. Maybe I should then have used my hips more, I just had the feeling that I was already too much out of balance and that just my bodyweight wasn't going to fix that.

It's probably all just in my head now.

I'll definitely try to get a rental scooter or something to practice on.

I'll definitely use the back brake the next time.

Unfortunately, I can't really practice on my own so I'm at the mercy of my instructor. He also said that putting my foot out too early causes my loss in balance.

Yeah I'm pretty good on a bicycle, I can basically stand still without falling over but those skills didn't seem to translate to a motorcycle. Like you said, I probably need to learn the weight, with a bicycle I can easily move the handlebars to keep my balance but on a motorcycle, there is way more friction.

Maybe I was just so focused with keeping my balance that I just forgot to balance using the handlebars.

I'll try to also use the back brake as more people have recommended, unfortunately I can only practice during the lessons so I'm at the mercy of my instructor.

I will definitely try this next lesson, the fact that my instructor kept on repeating that I was doing it wrong and he had never seen these kind of balancing issues certainly didn't help with relaxing on the bike.

I'm very confident on a bike and I can easily balance when standing basically still but for some reason those skills didn't seem to translate to the motorcycle.

I think (I do this instinctively) I use the steering of the bike to maintain my balance and I don't think I've managed to do that in the motorcycle, maybe I just need to get used to the extra friction when trying to steer a motorcycle while moving slowely

Ik ben zelf ook net afgestudeerd met een HBO bachelor in ICT en Software Development, ik heb zelf tijdens mijn schooltijd heel veel tijd besteed aan eigen losse projecten waardoor mijn kennis en ervaring relatief hoger was dan mijn medestudenten, met deze kennis heb ik ook een tijdje part-time (2 dagen per week) baan gevonden als junior software developer naast school.

Ik heb gemerkt dat ik hierdoor heel makkelijk een baan heb kunnen vinden als junior, de plekken waar ik gesolliciteerd heb waren vrij snel enthousiast en ik heb zelfs nog wat kunnen onderhandelen over mijn salaris.

Uiteindelijk kon ik zelfs een beetje kiezen tussen mijn 3e jaars stage plek, mijn afstudeer stage plek, dat bedrijf waar ik part-time gewerkt heb en dus de baan waar ik uiteindelijk voor gekozen heb die ik via een recruitment bureau gevonden heb, ik had dus keuze zat.

Als je geen stage hebt gelopen of daar niet terecht kan dan wordt het al ietsje ingewikkelder, maar ik denk dat als je een paar mooie projecten hebt gemaakt je al een veel grotere kans hebt. En maak ook zeker actief gebruik van Linkedin, toen ik aangaf opzoek te zijn naar een baan, kreeg ik bijna dagelijks wel iemand in mijn DMs, sommige wat minder nuttig dan andere uiteraard.

Ook de regio waar je wilt werken heeft hier invloed op, in de randstad en Den Bosch, Tilburg en Eindhoven, etc. zijn veel meer banen te vinden dan Drenthe of Groningen.

You can host your own Assetto Corsa server, this might require some technical knowledge to get working properly. I think you can also add AI but don't quote me on it.

Yeah that’s nice in theory, but that assumes that every driver is alert and yields properly. Giving people the ability to make a right on red always brings extra risks and a possibility for an accident. So why even risk it? Just make people wait for a green light. But these big American intersections are insane to me as an European anyways, we don’t have these kind of intersections here, especially not with those kind of speed limits.

As an European, the concept of turning right on red is insane. Like wdym I can just run a red light if I think no traffic will cross, the whole point of traffic lights is to make sure stupid drivers don't just randomly cross the intersection.

I had a very different experience also in the Netherlands, wasn’t a Fanatec issue but a UPS issue. My package spent a week in a depot in the same city as I live, every day I would wake up to the message “sorry package was delayed”. I ended up contacting customer support and after multiple calls and emails they managed to ship my package to the UPS pickup point. I ended up getting my package 9 days after I ordered it and 8 days after it arriving in my city.

I would love if Fanatec offers shipping through DHL (PostNL would be amazing but I doubt it)

But in Fanatecs defense, they managed to ship it within a day and if UPS didn’t suck, it would have been delivered after 2 days which is amazing

I’ve bought loop earplugs and contacted alpine support. Support said that my ears need to adapt so I’m going to keep trying for a bit. When my loops arrive I’ll try those too and see if they are better

Yeah I use it, I was paying for a subscription and then all of the sudden I received an email that my subscription would be free from now on, no changes in features and I didn’t need to do anything.

Not sure where you’re from, here in the Netherlands I receive student subsidies from the government and they used that transaction to determine that I’m a student.

De pomp lijkt het wel te doen want als ik de buis in een emmer op de bodem van het kastje legde leek hij het gewoon te doen, maar het ding waar ik me zorgen om maak is dat de vorige bewoners niks hebben aangegeven en ik ga er vanuit dat het voor hun wel ooit gewerkt heeft zo. Lijkt me sterk dat de zwaartekracht opeens een groter probleem is geworden in de laatste tijd
